The bell rang. Kenma was laying with his head on his desk. He didn't feel like eating his lunch. He felt sick. As if he tried eating, it would come right back up again. His teacher came up to his desk, giving him a concerned look.

"Kozume, are you feeling ill?" Kenma shrugged his shoulders.

I don't know at this point. The teacher handed him a note.

"Best to go visit the nurse. I'll email you the homework if you don't come back." Kenma sighed and grabbed his bag. It felt heavier than before. Was he really getting ill? It felt like he had to force his body to walk on his way to the nurse. He tried walking without drawing any attention, but Yamamoto had managed to spot him in the crowd. Kenma bit the inside of his lip.

Please leave me alone.

"You looking for someone, Kenma? Not often you walk around in lunch." Kenma slowly shook his head.

"No, I am going to the nurse." He got surprised by his voice. It was all hoarse. Yamamoto's face got filled with concern.

"You feeling ill?" Kenma nodded annoyed. Before Yamamoto could say more, Kenma continued to walk.

"Remember to rest up!" Yamamoto yelled after him.

How annoying. Kenma finally got to the nurse and showed the note he had gotten from the teacher. The nurse asked some basic questions before running a few tests.

"You probably have the flu. A lot of rest and a week or two away from school should do." The nurse started writing in her book.

A week or two? What's the team going to do now? He was sent home. Before he left he put a note in Yamamoto's locker, explaining what the nurse had said. Walking home early felt illegal. As soon as he got home, Kenma climbed into bed, under his covers.

Wonder if Kuroo is going to get mad. He felt his eye lids getting heavy.

Wish he was here.

Kuroo was walking towards the clubroom, lost in his own thoughts.

"Guess we are dating", he had said. She had seemed happy about it.

Why do I not feel happy? Maybe I just need to give it some time? As he entered the clubroom Yaku turned his head towards him with a hopeful look. Kuroo nodded quickly with a small smile across his lips. Yaku gave him a quick thumbs up before continuing changing. Kuroo got changed and headed to the gym. Some of the guys had already started stretching. Kuroo looked around.

Where's Kenma? Yamamoto came running in the doors.

"Kuroo! There you are!" He stopped to catch his breath. Kuroo tilted his head.

"Have you seen Kenma?" Kuroo asked. Yamamoto nodded quickly.

"Yeah, he wrote me a note. He got the flu, so he was told to go home and rest, and might be out for a week or two." Kuroo's eyes widened in shock.

"A week or two?!" His voice was louder than expected. He cleared his throat.

Why didn't Kenma text me about it? He didn't have time to think about that. They had to figure out how to get efficient practices without Kenma.

"Good job everyone!" Kuroo shouted at the end of the practice. They all went to the clubroom to get changed back.

"I can't believe Kenma is sick", Lev murmured to himself. He was probably mad that Yaku had gotten him to practice his receives instead of his spikes. Kuroo checked his phone. Still no new messages from anyone.

Is he just going to stop talking to me? He shook his head. If that was what he was trying to do, he wouldn't let him. He grabbed his things and left the clubroom.

I don't get the whole deal with the distancing. I want to give him his space, but I also want to be there for him. Kuroo walked to the store close by. He grabbed some of the snacks he knew Kenma liked, and a bottle of his favourite drink. After paying, he went straight to Kenma's house. Kenma's parents hadn't gotten home yet, but the door was unlocked.

How irresponsible. He tiptoed his way up the stairs and found his way to Kenma's room. The lights were off. Carefully, he stepped inside. Kenma was laying in bed, his bed covers wrapped around him. Kuroo placed the snacks and drink on Kenma's desk and wrote a note to put next to it.

The flu, huh? Convenient. He carefully put his hand on Kenma's forehead. It was like putting his hand on a stovetop.

"Oh, shit", Kuroo whispered. He tiptoed his way to the bathroom to get a cold cloth to put onKenma's head. As he put it on, Kenma made a noise. Kuroo was embracing for himto wake up, but he still had his eyes closed. Kuroo did a small sigh of reliefand stroke his fingers down Kenma's cheek.

Wait, why did I- He triedcollecting his thoughts. It had been more of an instinct. He took a quickglance at Kenma to make sure he was sleeping before he went out of the roomagain. He rummaged his pockets to see if he still had the keys before walkingdown the stairs. No, they were probably laying at his desk, since he hadn'tneeded them in a while. He skimmed the key cabinet for the spare key.

I can't just leave him with an open door.
