Red’s POV

When I opened my eyes, I saw a beautiful woman staring at me. “Sino ka?”  I asked.

Halatang nagulat ang babae, but she was never able to say anything because some people came in. I know I’m in a hospital, I saw some doctors and nurses coming in. I also saw Manang Teresita.

“Salamat sa Diyos!” I heard manang Teresita say. I was still curious as to who that woman is. I saw her crying. I tried to remember who she is, but my head just started to ache. I also feel like my body’s aching, well most likely swolen.

“Sir, do you know who you are?” The doctor asked.

“Rafael Eduardo Saavedra” I answered.

“Do you know where you are?” He asked again.

I looked around and answered “In the hospital, I presume. What happened?” It was very hard for me to talk. Naramdaman ko ang bigat ng mukha ko na para bang namamaga.

“Do you remember what happened to you? Why you are here?” The doctor was asking pretty weird questions.

“I was driving and the last thing I remember is seeing a very bright light from a truck” I could remember clearly what happened. I was driving then my car was hit by a truck.

“Do you recognize these people, Mr. Saavedra?”

“Manang Teresita and… I don’t know. Am I supposed to know her?” I asked confused. Hindi ko pa siya nakikita. Hindi ko siya kilala. Pero iniiyakan niya ako.

The doctor gave a smile in response.

“We are going to perform a series of tests to determine the damage caused by your accident. You’re a very lucky man, Mr. Saavedra. The extent of your injuries is not as severe as most people would think after what happened to you. With the way your car looked, you’re lucky to be still alive. You must have a guardian angel looking after you” The doctor said after he left.

I saw the doctor talk to manang and the woman, but I could not hear what they are saying.

Lucy arrived a few hours later.

“Thank God, Red! You almost killed me of fear! I thought you wouldn’t wake up” She gave me a very tight hug.

“Goddammit Lucy! Masakit!” My body is still in a whole lot of pain. “When did you arrive?”  I asked.

“Just now, stupid! Ako lang pala ang hinihintay mo. Dapat pala nung araw na naaksidente ka, lumipad na ako papunta dito. Anyway, sorry ngayon lang ako nakarating ha” She jokingly said.

Habang nag-uusap kami ni Lucy, pumasok sina manang at yung babae. Nagulat ako nang biglang nagalit si Lucy at akmang susugurin ang babae.

“Why are you here?! I really can’t figure out why Red had to marry you. He could just get a hired killer and have you killed and then he won’t have a problem at all. This…” She pointed at Red. “What happened to him is all because of you! The accident was because of you!”

Marry her? I married her? She’s my wife? When? How? I can’t remember! Is Lucy playing a joke on me? I looked at the woman and she was in tears. My sister was still shouting at her, yet I could no longer hear them. Everything that’s running through my mind right now is what I heard from Lucy. It keeps on replaying on my mind.
