My Sweet Nightmare

CHAPTER 26

Yumi's POV

I still can't stop myself from crying even though I was already at the parking area. Halos isang oras na rin akong umiiyak sa loob ng kotse. Sinusubukan kong bumalik sa office ni Red, pero bantay-sarado ang mga guards. I couldn't do much because the guards were obviously stronger than me, but that won't break me. Kung kinakailangang bumalik ako nang araw-araw sa office ni Red, gagawin ko hanggang sa pumayag siya. He's the only chance that I have now.

I was shocked when I saw I had 41 missed calls from Louie. Kinabahan na ako ng bigla. I immediately dialed his number.

"Louie, I'm sorry. My phone was on silent mode. What happened?" I tried to suppress my sobs.

["Yumi, Mathew's missing. He's not in his room. We tried searching for him sa loob ng bahay pero wala talaga." Nagulat ako sa sinabi ni Louie. I thought this day's really bad. I did not know that it will become a lot worse.]

"Hah?! Are you sure? Baka nasa park lang, did you try asking the guards? Pupunta na ako kaagad diyan" I got more concerned.

["I already asked the guards kung may nakita silang batang lumabas ng village, but they told me they did not see one. We are already searching all over the village, pero hindi pa rin namin makita. We wanted to contact you earlier, but you weren't answering the phone"] He answered back.

I hung up and immediately started the car. "God, Mathew! God, please keep my son safe" I silently prayed as I hurriedly went back to our village.

Red's POV

"Is he still crying?" I asked Susan when she went out of the conference room. She brought Mathew in there because he just won't stop crying.

"A little. But, he's better now compared to earlier. He's very stubborn... Just like you" I saw Susan smile at me.

Susan has been my Secretary for a long time kaya kilalang-kilala niya na rin ako. She's a lot older than me, but she has been very competent on her job. Meron na din siyang asawa at dalawang anak.

"Nag-aalala lang ako kasi baka anong mangyari sa kaniya. That child is sick. Being really upset might be bad for him. Do you think I can talk to him now?" I asked.

"I'm not sure, but you can try" She answered.

I slowly opened the door of the conference room. I saw Mathew playing with my tablet, which Susan gave to him to keep him from being upset. I saw Mathew raise his head and look at me.

I smiled at him, but instead of answering back, he gave me a very piercing look and went back to playing on the tablet.

I sat beside him. "Mathew, what game are you playing?" I tried to look at what game he was playing on the tablet, but he dropped the tablet on the table and looked at me intently in the eyes again.

"I will say this just once, Sir. I don't want to talk to you and I don't want to be near you. I regret the day that I met you and I despise the fact that you possibly are my father! So please, if you don't want me, since I heard you say that to my mom, stop being nice because I will never believe you. You are a liar and an evil person and I will never be friends with people like you" He stood up and transferred to another seat far away from me.

I was stunned with what he said. Nakaramdam ako ng kirot sa dibdib dahil sa sinabi ni Mathew. He must have heard everything I told Yumi earlier. Kahit na ayaw ko pa ring maniwala na anak namin siya ni Yumi, a little part of me is saying that if I really do have a son, sana si Mathew na nga even if he hates me more than anyone in this world right now.
