i've always wanted to be a disney princess,
but not in the way you'd think,
not because i crave the saviour of a prince,
or because of the beauty they possess,
but because of the traits they value,
each to their own.

to be cinderella,
raised in such toxicity,
yet still so strong willed,
avoiding all bitterness.

to be anna,
full of grief,
yet so determined,
to find her sister without giving in.

to be elsa,
she doesn't need one,
to make her whole
she's stands alone,
an independent woman,
yet holds so much power.

to be rapunzel,
the freedom she gained,
stepping over boundaries,
through her bravery,
to escape what no longer served her.

to be belle,
who found  beauty,
in the little things,
all around her,
and appreciated them.

interpretation: i've never wrote a poem about someone who inspired me or anything but i wanted to write about characters who inspired me when i was younger and the real reasons why.
