"I joined a new church sweetheart" my grandma spoke over the phone to me. I was on my lunch break, and we always called one another around this time.
I worked as a marketing advertiser for a famous company called Solite. Being only 21, I was the youngest at my job. You might think it's a little young for someone my age to hold such a high position but I've worked my ass off since I was sixteen to get here.
"Emerald can you hear me baby?" she asked breaking me from my thoughts.
"Yes grandma, I'm sorry. What did you say?"
"I said I want you to come to church with me this Sunday"
I wasn't really too amped but I wanted to make my granny happy. She was all I had. I looked down at my watch at the time, seeing it was time for me to go back to work.
"Alright Gran, I gotta go back to work. I'll come by when I get off"
"Okay sweetheart, I love you"
"I love you too" I said hanging up.
I finished my food, discarding it when it was empty. When I got back in my office, my assistant came walking in.
"Ms.Johnson, you have a meeting in 30, and Mr.Hughes would like to see you in his office right now"
I nodded my head. "Thank you Samantha. You can have the rest of the day off, just leave my schedule on my desk"
She smiled widely and hugged me. "Thanks Em"
Samantha and I grew close. She was like a best friend to me almost. I walked out my office, heading to my bosses'.
I knocked on the door, and waited for him to call me in. "Come in!" I walked in, and stood at his desk. "Sir you wanted to see me?"
He got up and walked around me, heading towards the door. "Zach, we're at work"
He locked it, and turned around, facing me. "So?" he asked, grabbing my waist. He picked me up, and threw everything off his desk. I bit my lip, unbuttoning my blouse.
