Alfie sat slouched in the uncomfortable plastic seats in Mr Tanners History class. Both himself and Stefan had been late to class as Stefan needed to pop home for his school stuff.

When he had returned to the car, he had told Alfie what his nephew Zack had told him, about how Vikki Donovan was attacked by a wild animal and was currently in the hospital.

But Alfie already knew that because he could remember that little clip and from what his sister said, it was Damon's way of telling Stefan he's back.

But of course, Alfie didn't correct Stefan, instead he kept his mouth shut and decided he was going to wait until Stefan told him the truth, before he told his.

Alfie yawned quietly into his closed fist, his head still pounding from the night before. Why did I let Caroline convince me to drink, he moaned internally.

Cold fingers brushed against his own, startling him slightly. He knew it was only Stefan, so Alfie wrapped his fingers around his soulmates, giving his hand a small squeeze.

"Originally discovered nearly five centuries ago. It hasn't been over Mystic Falls in over a 145 years." Tanner droned on, talking about the Comet that was supposedly pas by tomorrow tonight.

Stefan leaned back in his chair, his hand still gripping Alfie's as he felt a pair of eyes watching his every move. Frowning, Stefan locked in to the dull brown eyes that belonged to Elena Gilbert.

Stefan squinted his eyes in question, before simply looking away. There would have been a time where Stefan found the girl attractive, but now? Never. She could even come close to comparing to his Mate. He would out shine her in ever way possible.

Smiling a small lovesick smile, Stefan looked towards his very hungover Mate. I'm going to tel him tomorrow, he vowed, his mind already made up. On the night of the Comet.

Alfie looked of from his note pad, Smiling back to Stefan who had yet to tear his gaze away. In the corner of his eye he could see his sister staring lovingly towards his soulmate, but Alfie didn't care much because he knew nothing would happen. Despite what he knew of the Salvatore love triangle, he trusted Stefan.

"Now the Comet will be at its brightest right after dusk during tomorrow's celebration." Tanner continued, a scowl making its way onto his face. "Are we bothering you?" He asked sarcastically, looking pointedly at Stefan and Alfie. "Mr. Salvatore? Mr. Gilbert?"

Alfie shook his head, wincing slightly when the loud school bell rang, signalling the end of class. Packing all his things away, Alfie shouldered his bag and left the room, Stefan following just a few seconds behind.

Elena hurried to pack her things, quickly rushing out after the teen in hopes of catching up to him. She needed to talk to him privately, she couldn't have her brother hearing what she had to say.

However, Stefan had seen her walking towards them and quickly latched onto Alfie's hand, walking them faster down the hall to avoid the pushy teen.

Alfie looked up to Stefan in confusion but he didn't question it. If Stefan wanted to get out quicker, that was fine by him.

Once Stefan was sure they managed to loose the teen who couldn't take no for an answer, he pulled off his bag and took something out of it. "I brought it."

Alfie took the book Stefan had handed over and gasped. How had he managed to find this? He thought bewildered before scolding himself, he's over a hundred years old, it's no surprise really.

"I told you." Stefan smiled warmly while Alfie admired the first edition Jane Austen 'Sense and Sensibility'

Alfie traced the front cover with delicate strokes, scared that even merely holding the book would cause it to turn to dust at his feet. "Sense and Sensibility' by Jane Austen." Alfie said softly, shaking his head in disbelief.

"How?" He asked. Stefan smiled his usual charming smile. "It's been in my family for generations. My Great-Great-Great-Great- Grandfather met her in person. He wrote about it in his journal."

Alfie shook his head, "I can't take this. Even just borrowing this. It's history, and it's important to you family. It's a part of your family."

Stefan smiled, pushing the book back into Alfie's chest while said boy kept trying to give it back. "I have lots of books. Go ahead. Take it, I want you to keep it."

"Stefan." Alfie gasped, feeling genuinely touched, "I can't, this is yours." Stefan clasped his hand around Alfie's, "I want you to keep it."

"Thank you." Alfie said barley above a whisper. Standing on his tip toes, Alfie placed a small hesitant kiss to Stefan's lips cause said teen to freeze in shock.

Even after Alfie had pulled away, Stefan still remained in the same spot

Even after Alfie had pulled away, Stefan still remained in the same spot. "Stefan?" Alfie asked hesitantly. Had he done something wrong? Did Stefan not want his to kiss him in public?

Suddenly Stefan snapped out of his daze, smiling widely at Alfie. Leaning down, he placed a harder, longer kiss to his lips before pulling away.

Both with goofy smiles on their faces, the Mated couple linked hands and walked off down the corridor, completely oblivious to the seething brunette not far behind them
