In the early hours of the morning, Alfie was sleeping peacefully, wrapped in Stefan's arms while the hundred year old vampire remained awake. His mouth was parted, making way for soft snores to escape, completely oblivious to the world.

For the first time since he had woken up in this universe, he was having the most pleasant dreams. In the dream he looked a little bit older than what he was now but still relatively young. Stefan was hugging him from behind while the pair wore matching smiles.

Across from them, Caroline was sitting on the grass playing with two children. One was a young boy and the other a girl. Twins, no older than three. They had Alfie's curly hair but Stefan's features.

Alfie knew instantly that they where their kids which in a way made him sad because other than adoption, the two would never have any biological children of there own.

Leaning against the tree with a small smile was Damon. Standing next to him was someone he'd never seen before but he looked just as mischievous as Damon.

However, that dream slowly slipped from his mind as he was woken up with a loud bang. "Sorry," Jeremy apologised after Alfie shot up from the bed with a startled gasp. "Can I stay with you tonight?"

Stefan sat up, wrapping his arms around his mate as he buried his head into the teens shoulder. While Alfie ran his fingers through the blonde hair, he nodded his head. "Why?" He asked, moving the bed quilt so that Jeremy could lay down.

Which he did, after he shut and locked the bedroom door. Resting his head on the pillow, the teen sighed. "Someone was in my room, looking through all my stuff." He murmured quietly.

Laying back down, Alfie flipped onto his side, "How do you know?" He asked, looking at his brother through the darkness. Surprisingly, he could see everything crystal clear.

"Because while my room is tidy, some of my things are not where I put them and my weed and bong are both missing. I know it wasn't you because you wouldn't do that. So that leaves aunt Jenna and or Elena. I just wish they'd leave me alone and let me deal with things myself."

Alfie let out a small sigh, "I know, Jere." He stared at his brother sympathetically. He didn't understand how the two where constantly on Jeremy's back now when they didn't give a shit before.

Jeremy closed his eyes as he pulled the quilt up to his chin, "Did you know that Elena cornered me after you and Stefan left?" He asked just above a whisper. When he heard a small 'no' slip from his brothers mouth, he continued. "She gave me an ultimatum. Either stop and talk to her or go to therapy."

Rolling his eyes, Alfie let out a small huff while stroking his thumb over Stefan's hand which had wrapped around his waist. "I thought I was your therapist?" he asked cheekily.

"You are," Jeremy replied with a small smile. "Why would I go to a professional when you listen to my problems for free? It saves me money, why would I want to give that up?"

Alfie scoffed and playful pushed his brothers shoulder. "You cheeky little shit." Ignoring the teens sniggers, Alfie turned looked over his shoulder to see Stefan sleeping soundly.

With a small smile, he turned back to his brother. "Was Vikki found in the end?" He asked, lowering his voice to a whisper.

Jeremy nodded his head, "yeah," he scoffed while rolling his eyes. "Her excuse was that she took some pills and went for a walk." Rolling his eyes, Jeremy let out a small sigh. "She didn't even care that we were worried."

Reaching over, Alfie squeezed his brothers hand. "I'm sorry, Jere." He said softly. Seeing Jeremy shake his head, he sighed. He deserved better than someone using him for drugs. "Why do you keep going back to her when all she does is play you like a yo-yo?"

The younger teen hesitated. Why did he keep going back? "I don't know," he answered after a few minutes of reluctant silence. "I think, deep down, I might actually love her."

Alfie nodded, "But what about your soulmate?" He asked quietly. "Your only Fifteen Jere. And I'm not saying this to push you away from her. I wouldn't do that to you. I just want you to think of the possibility that you might have one. Your birthday is only a few weeks away."

"I know," said Jeremy, "I have been thinking about it and honestly? I don't think I will have one. Mum and dad didn't, aunt Jenna didn't, nor Elena. Hell, even Uncle John didn't. The only one in our family to get one is you. Other than that, there hasn't been a case of soulmates in the Gilbert line for over three centuries."

Snorting, Alfie raised his brow, "And how do you know that exactly?" He asked. "Not about mum, Dad, Jenna, Elena and John. But that there has been no cases for over three hundred years?"

Jeremy blinked once, twice, three times. "Because mum and Elena told me all about it on my tenth birthday?" He said even though it sounded more like a question.

Once more, Alfie snorted. Shaking his head, he could remember through original Alfie's memories that, that was a lie. "Well, someone wasn't telling you the truth." He said softly. "Because Grandmother Ruby Gilbert was soulmate'd to Grandfather Robert on our fathers side. Mum and dad where soulmates too."

"But I never saw their marks," Jeremy frowned. Squinting through the darkness, he gave his brother a quizzical look.

"That's because they covered them up." Alfie told him. "And before you ask how I know, it's because one night after a nightmare, I went into mum and dads room and saw mum wiping the foundation off of her wrist. Still to this day, I don't know why."

Seeing his brothers look, Alfie sighed, "Maybe they didn't want to put a pressure on you on the off chance that you don't have one. Now, while we could stay up all night talking, we have things to do tomorrow. So go to sleep."

Rolling his eyes, Jeremy let out a small chortle and pulled the cover up to his chin. "Yes dad," he said cheekily before rolling onto his other side and closing his eyes.

Huffing playfully, Alfie turned over and wrapped his arms around Stefan's waist. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and let himself drift into darkness.
