The day had passed by surprisingly quickly for Alfie

The day had passed by surprisingly quickly for Alfie. One minute he was sitting in the middle of the classroom with his soulmate sitting next to him, the two muttering quietly to themselves. And the next, he was walking through the crowded streets next to his brother as they went to collect their candles from Matt.

"Hey Matt," Alfie greeted with a smile, "I heard Vicky got out the hospital today?" Tilting his head, he watched as Jeremy disappeared down the street after muttering something about going to find the teen in question.

Matt smiled a tense smile as he handed one of the candles over to the brunette teen. He was still a bit nervous for his sister, worrying that her discharge from the hospital was a little too soon, especially after the other night.

Holding the candle in his hands, Alfie turned to his friend, "Hey, why the long face?" He asked, "I thought you couldn't wait for her to come home. Where is she, anyway?"

Tilting his candle, Matt lit up Alfie's as he pursed his lips. "Working," he muttered with distaste while rolling his eyes. "And I am. I'm happy she's home, I'm just worried about her, that's all."

"Hey," Alfie called, "I know I've never really spoken to the girl, but from what I've seen and what you've told me, she's as tough as an old boot. She'll be okay. Have you heard back from your mum yet?"

The brunette winced at the deadpan look he received in response to his question, "I'm going to take that as a no then." Rolling his eyes, he huffed, "I know she's your mum and all, but she needs to sort out her priorities."

"Your telling me," Matt agreed with a small chuckle that turned into a smirk as he locked eyes with someone behind Alfie. The figure raised their finger to their lips and Matt nodded his head.

The smile on Alfie's lips dropped as he continued to look around. "You haven't seen Stefan? Have you?" He asked, turning away from the crowd, "I can't seem to spot him anywhere."

Suddenly his vision went dark when a pair of warm hands covered his eyes. From the shivered erupting up and down his body, he knew exactly who it was. A pair of lips pressed against the side of his neck.

"Hmmm," Alfie moaned, his head leaning back. "A mysterious stranger holding me close and kissing my neck. Whatever's will my soulmate think? Maybe we should stop before he sees," he teased.

Lifting his hands, he gently pulled Stefan's off his face and turned around, still gripping the vampires hand within his own while completely missing the fact that Matt had walked away and was currently talking to Elena.

Smiling down at his soulmate with a loud of adoration, Stefan pecked the teens plump and inviting lips. "I missed you," he murmured quietly, pulling his hands out of Alfie's to wrap around the boys waist.

Alfie let out a soft laugh, "It's only been two hours," he resorted with a toothy smile. Upon seeing Stefan's pout, he pressed a quick kiss to his lips, having to go onto his tip toes to do so.

Pulling back, he looked into his soulmates eyes and frowned. The bags beneath them where darker than they where that morning. "Have you eaten?" He asked, tracing underneath them with his thumb.

Stefan let out a low purr at the soothing action and leaned more into the teens hands while shaking his head. He wasn't going to lie and said that he had when he hadn't. But since he had first laid eyes on his wonderful and Handsome soulmate, his hunger had disappeared.

He no longer felt the need to rip out everyone's jugular, even after a fresh hunt. He no longer felt his hunger wanting to control him, in fact, he felt like he was more in control of his hunger now than he had ever been. It was strange, but nice at the same time.

Besides, he didn't have time to eat because he was to engrossed in the books he was reading in his room. After school, he told Alfie that he was going home to look through his library to try and find anything that might help his Soulmate into figuring out what he was and how he had gotten here.

But, apparently this type of thing had never happened before. Well, at least not to anyone his books had been written by. But that wasn't to say that it hadn't happened hundreds maybe even thousands of years before. He just needed to keep looking.

"Stefan, you need to eat," Alfie said softly, his eyes darting around to make sure no one was listening. He could see his sister glaring at him from the corner of his eye, but he didn't care.

"I will," he promised, holding Alfie even closer. "I promise." Placing a kiss to his lips, he looked towards the sky, "You know, that comet?" He asked, nodding his head towards the flying orb a million miles away.

Alfie moved his hands to the back of the vampires neck, while he looked towards the sky, "Yeah?" He asked, watching as it left a blue and green stream in its wake. "It's been travelling across space for thousands of years." Stefan told him, "All alone."

The brunette nodded along as he listened to his soothing voice, "Bonnie said it was a harbinger of evil." He said, remembering what the teen had said the day previous when his sister had dragged him to Sit next to them. "What do you think it is?"

Stefan shook his head, "I think it's just a ball of snow and ice," he said before placing a kiss to the teens head, "Trapped on a path that it can't escape. Once every 145 years, it's gets to come home."

Lifting his hand, he gently turned Alfie's head towards his own so that he could look the teen in the eyes, "You know," he muttered, "Tonight was the night I planned on telling you about my condition."

Alfie rolled his eyes fondly, "You say condition like it's some sort of disease." He mused, "But if you think about it this way, it's a blessing. Because of you weren't what you are, then we'd never have met. Would you want that?"

Stefan shook his head firmly, "Absolutely not" he said sternly. "But you need to understand, that I'm not the saint I make myself out to be. I've killed people, Alfie. When so much as a drop of human blood touches my tongue, I loose control. I turn into a cold blooded killer because I can't stop."

The brunette nodded his head to the vampires words, making Stefan believe that he might have just ended his relationship with his soulmate for good. What he didn't expect was for Alfie to place and tender and loving kiss to his lips.

"Isn't that part of being a vampire?" He asked, whispering the words quietly so no one could hear, "the killing, the bloodlust? I don't think there's a single vampire in history that can honestly say that they have never hurt or killed a single person since they had been turned."

Running his fingers through Stefan's soft, blonde hair, Alfie sighed, "I'm not going to reject you for something you can't control. I understand that your ledger is dripping, but you can't change the past. You can only learn from it. We will learn from it together. You and me. You are my soulmate, Stefan. You gotta be out of your damn mind if you think I'm giving you up without a fight."
