Dahlia was so short that she was standing on the countertop in her kitchen as she searched for boxes of teabags on the top shelf of her coffee drawer.

"Pete," she said through strained effort.

"Uhhhhh, do you need help?" She heard him say.

"No, no I'm cool. What kind of tea would you like?"

"... I don't know, what do you have?"

"Umm," she searched through the various coloured packages. "Earl grey, chamomile, vanilla chai, English Breakfast, green—" Dahlia felt herself slip, her body leaning back and falling suddenly. It was so sudden she didn't even have enough time to scream, all that was heard was a yelp.

Expecting to hit the tiled floor hard on her back, hearing only a loud smack, she instead felt two strong arms embrace her.

"You have this weird habit of falling, did you know that?" Pete snickered.

"You have this weird habit of catching me as it's happening, did you know that? Where'd you get your fast reflexes from? Spider-Man?" She said shakily as she carefully climbed out of his arms.

"I'll have some of that camel toe tea, by the way."

"I—" Dahlia didn't think she heard him correctly. "What's the tea you want called?"

"... camel toe tea."

"..."

"..."

"... Chamomile tea?"

"Yeah, yeah, that." Dahlia bit down on the corners of her mouth, trying her best to keep from bursting into laughter. "Sure thing."

"Chamomile... what is that? Some kind of fruit?"

"It's a flower, I believe."

"Hmm..." Pete took a cautious sip from his still steaming cup. "What kind of flowers do you like?"

Dahlia scoffed, smiling. "That's a rather random thing to ask me."

"Well, not really. I mean, we are drinking flower water... talkin' about flowers... what's your favourite? I bet it's the camel toe." Pete jerked his eyebrows up and down in rapid succession just as he brought the mug to his lips.

Dahlia chuckled, shaking her head at Pete. She thought about how big of a goofball he is and how charming she finds him.

"My favourite sort of changes depending on the day but I find my most consistent favourite are, coincidentally, dahlias." She smiled.

"Mmm..." Pete nodded.

"I think the yellow ones are just... gorgeous." Dahlia pulled out her phone, searching the flower up and showing Pete. Pete chuckled, setting his mug down on the coffeetable.

"They look like little suns. Shit, they put sunflowers to shame, they're that pretty."

Dahlia giggled, "I know you're just saying that because you know they're my favourite."
