the next week had been pretty quiet, just going back and forth between the house and the restaurant with JJ, my mom and kayden, but kayden had left last night to go back home. so now it was just back to the three of us.

"here's your check when you're ready." i smiled and slid it on the table before going back to the kitchen, putting my try down.

"table four is ready." greg stated, pushing the two plates on the line. i grabbed them, hurrying out and giving them to the table. i smiled as the door opened.

"hello, welcome to ainsley's," i smiled and looked over, seeing sarah, john b, beck and kie. i stopped as they all watched me. "sit wherever you'd like, a server will be right with you." i said and walked back to the kitchen, seeing JJ taking a sip of his drink.

"we have a small issue." i said.

"what?" he asked.

"sarah, john b, beck and katie all just walked in the door."

"oh god." he rolled his eyes.

"rock, paper, scissors?" i asked.

"yes," he smiled as we played, but him ultimately losing and having to serve them.

"go get 'em tiger." i smiled and pushed his face.

"oh, fuck you." he laughed and ducked out of the kitchen. i followed him out, grabbing the check and money from my table. i put it in the system, printing a receipt and walking back over, handing them their card and the paper.

"have a goodnight guys," i smiled as they got up and left. i started clearing the table, putting the dishes in the back. i washed them all before wiping my hands on my apron, JJ walking in.

"and?" i asked, leaning against the counter.

"and we have a bigger problem." he said. "cami and her dad just walked in."

"are you serious?" i asked.

"yeah," he nodded. "i can ask them to leave, but it's not going to be pretty."

"she knows this is my restaurant, right?"

"it has your name on the front, so if she doesn't, she's stupid."

i snorted, "you never know."

he smiled, "i've got them, if you'll do my dishes."

"deal," i nodded.

"yes," he smiled and grabbed a chair, making all their drinks, bringing them out.

"where's that mom of yours?" greg asked.

"busy," i said. "why?"

"wanted to make sure she's okay."

"yeah, she's okay." i nodded. "why?"

"with your dad and all, she hasn't talked much about it."

"well my dad's a douche, so." i shrugged.

"lee," JJ said as he appeared in the doorway, looking scared.

"what?"

"uh, she doesn't want to be served, she wants to talk to you."

"cami does?" i asked.

"yeah," he nodded. i felt my heartbeat pick up as my face got warm.

"oh, uh, okay." i said and walked out, him following.

"can i help you?" i asked cami.

"can we talk?" she asked. "like, outside?"

i glanced at JJ and he shook his head. i looked back at her.
