59| A Case

Cas's POV

Back to some spooky stuff. Katie called me and let me know there are some strange occurances happening in the are. She's coming back with her mom for us to tackle this together. As I was talking to Sam about it something interesting came up.

"What about Ace"

"What about him"

"Well he wants to be apart of the group"

"Yeah but do you really want to have him help us with this"

"Imy not sure that's why I asked"

" He might think we're crazy. Sure the extra hands would be nice but not at the risk of him dying or getting hurt"

"Yeah your right. Maybe he can help with the research part. We'll just tell him we are writing a book"

"That could work" 

With a plan played out to kind of introduce Ace to our crazy life I ask Katie for more details on this case. 

Sam's POV

I knew it wasn't the best idea to bring Ace into this but I really wanted to have in my life. I just hope he doesn't get weirded out. Cas was talking to Katie about the details of the case. Apparently some people had gotten out of a cab with more stuff then they got in with. Like they had more money or some other stuff like that. Katie's calling it 'The Devils' Taxi'. Good name. Katie figured it was probably demon deals but instead of a cross roads it's in a cab. We aren't sure where the cab is currently but last we heard it was in the area. We'll see I guess. I texted Ace to see if he was free to hop on a call and do some research. He agreed so we got to work.

" So what is this 'research' for exactly?"

"Well I'm writing a book and I want to write about demons and things like that"

" Oh ok. So this is to help with your writing?"

"Yeah pretty much. Oh by the way, thanks again"

"Yeah no prob. I mean your a nice person so I might as well help"

As the night went on and we continued our research the conversation drifted a little. 

"So.....uh....Sam...how have you been holding up"

"Pretty well actually. My mind has been occupied with other things as of late"

"Oh? Like what? If you don't mind my asking?"

"I don't mind. I've been thinking about a guy and Just generally happy things? 

"That's good. What guy though?"

" You'll find out soon enough"

"Alright"

The call fell silent and the music I had put on filled my ears. We sat just doing research for a few minutes. Then Cas joined the call.

"Hey guys how's it going?"

"Pretty well I think"

"Oh right you're new to this. Well Cassie We are actually doing well"

"That's good to hear. Any news on the cab you r tracing?"

"Nothing yet sadly"

"Dang... oh well. I'm gonna join in and do some research."

As Cas joined in the call fell silent again. It was nice but also it felt like there was so much that wanted to be said. I wanted to tell Ace that I like him but I know it's too early. Plus we have this case. I can tell Cas knows I like him but she can tell I don't want to tell him yet. 

Cas's POV

As Sam, Ace and I continued to do research my mind wondered about what might happen when or if we ever tell Ace what we really do. On one hand it would kinda be the right thing to do so we aren't hiding things. But do we really wanna drag someone else into this? Anyways we really should get through this case first and then figure out what to do about Ace. 

Katie's POV

We don't get much of my point of view but look at it this way. I found the case so I'm here. So this case has a demon and a taxi. The Devils' Taxi. I obviously came up with the name. Demon deals being made in the comfort of a taxi. People selling their souls without really knowing what they are doing. The taxi seems to pretty much disappear and reappear when some poor soul is desperate enough to sell their soul. Cas and Same seemed to not have too much if any info on this. I took the time to interview some of the victims. No one had much to say other then they had no idea what I was talking about. Great, no one knows what's going on here. 

Ace's POV

Sam and Cas had enlisted my help with a book Sam was writing. It seemed a bit strange cause we were also looking at news reports and coming up with lore based on them. Sam is a very creative person and has a bunch of ideas for where the story could go. But for this story arch she seems to think a demon taxi is the best answer. To some it may seem a little bazar but I'm not sure it's as outlandish as Cas and Sam keep telling me it is. There isn't much info on this taxi or it's driver.  So maybe this is a real thing. Like demons are real or some shit like that. But what do I know. Plus what if I say that and they think I'm crazy. I can't risk that. Sam is too nice, sweet, and caring for me to mess anything up now. I'll wait it out. In the mean time I'll get to be better friends with Sam and just help her when I can. My mind wonders as we do research. I wonder about what we could do if this stuff was real. Demons man. How do you deal with them? I have no clue. So I take this time to see what I can find. One site said reciting an exorcism chant will pull the demon out of a person. Another said holly water and something called a demon blade or demon killing knife. Huh interesting. I'll have to look into that more.

Hey guys I hope this was a good chapter. I'm not sure what to do after this arch but we'll see where the story takes me.
