5| What No One Wanted

Sam's POV

We were all sitting in Cas's uncle's car. I was concerned and concerned for all of our safety but I think we can handle a djinn. Apparently he doesn't. As long as someone kills that thing I think we will be good.

"Cas what do we do now. He isn't going to let us go with him"

I was whispering in hopes that he wouldn't hear me but he did.

"Your not coming with me and I don't want you planning to sneak out"

"Come on we have got to do something"

"You did Cassie. You found where the djinn is hiding"

"But I want to do more then that"

"You haven't even been on a hunt so no"

"Fine"

I could tell Cas wanted to learn more and go on a hunt but there is no way we would get past her uncle. Maybe I can get Dash to help us.

Adam's POV

So I'm a little scared but honestly I'm just glad we'll be safe.

"Uh guys what the hell is going on"

"Oh crap right Adam's here"

"What's that supposed to mean Sam"

"Nothing I just forgot you came with us. Honestly I think you should have gone home"

"Hell no. You dragged me in so I'm staying"

"Ok fine whatever you say"

I have nothing against Sam but all of this seems too weird to be real. We get to Cas's house and she has to lie to her parents oh why we are all here. She has a nice house. We all make our way to the basement except Cas.

Cas's POV

I told my parents we are working on a project for the summer. They bought it so I told everyone to go to the basement while I get somethings. Sam knows where everything is so I trust she will keep the other 2 from messing anything up. I go to my room and grad more lore books then I join the rest of the group in the basement. Everyone is a bit shaken but won't talk about it..... at least not now. We all are flipping through all the books I brought down and it was quite till Sam spoke up.

"So let's get this out of the way. How is everyone and please tell the truth"

"Well I mean I've been better but this is the adventure I was looking for"

"Yeah same here. I'm used to crazy things happening so this is right up my alley"

"Ok good to know that Katie and Sam agree. How about you Adam"

"Well considering I got dragged here, my parents don't know where I am, my friends almost died, and I have no clue what's actually going on... Well I'm shaken and scared"

"Love the honesty Adam"

"Yeah now what about you Sam"

"What about me"

"You can't be fine with all this. This is crazy"

"Yeah it is but I've learned to adapt"

I could tell something is up with Sam. She's hiding something I just don't know what. I turn my focus back to the books. I start to get a bit antsy and decide we need a break.

"Ok guys who wants to play Mortal Kombat"

"Oh heck yeah. Who doesn't"

Katie was the most enthusiastic about it but it is Katie. Sam was always up or some MK. Adam on the other hand was not as enthused but was still up for playing. I started up the console and put the game in while everyone else hooked up the controllers. We had fun playing, Sam and I kicked butt while Katie was getting used to the controls.

"Alright I'm hungry. Anyone else"

Sam got us all something to drink and I got snacks. We sat around snaking for a bit till I got a call from my uncle.

"Hey Uncle John. What's wrong"

I knew he wouldn't be calling unless he was in trouble or needed help. I could feel something was off. His voice was shaky and is breath staggered.

" Cas I ....... I need your help"

The line cut off and color drained from my face. This is not what I thought would happen.

"Well looks like we will get to help out after all guys"

I was trying to stay calm but I can't believe any of this is happening.

Sam's POV

We get some gear so we can try and help. Once everyone was ready we got  a ride from Cas's mom and surprisingly with no questions. We make it to the park and run to the wooded part. Cas and I take the lead with Katie and Adam close behind. When we got to the old cabin Cas and I went in and the other's stayed out side to be look outs. When Cas and I got in we could hear the djinn and her uncle talking. His voice was pained and it sounded like he couldn't move much.

Cas's POV

My chest began to get heavy and it got harder to walk. I could feel the panic settling in my stomach. Sam had fear in her eyes but she kept pressing on. We listen in to the conversation so we could find the right time to try and save my uncle.

"You will never see your family again. I'm going to make them and you suffer just as much as I did"

"Yeah...... we'll...... we'll see about.... that"

The djinn walked out the back door and luckily we had walkies.

"Sam. Cas. He's out here"

"Katie just try your best to stay hidden. Keep an eye on Adam and keep your gard up"

"Ok yeah I'll do my best"

Finally Sam and I can help my uncle.

"Uncle John. Oh God. Wait give me a second. Stay still and don't move"

He was beaten up bad and I need all 4 of us to carry him out of here.

"Uncle John please say something"

"Cassie...... Don't want your time on me"

He's weak and I know he can't move. His breath is heavy and staggered.

"Call 911 Sam!"

Sam pulled her phone out and dialed the number then put it to her. What do we do now.
