58| New Love

Sam's POV

As the year went on and I was still going to school. I started to hangout with a guy named Ace. Ace is a little taller then me. He has curly hair and amazing blue green eyes. Better yet he's in my grade level. I'm getting ahead of myself though. Him and I started talking not too long after Adam died. I was pretty upset and he used to be friends with Adam. Sure it might not have been too long since he passed but it's so nice to have a new friend. 

Ace and I hang out after school and shared a few common interests such as animal crossing and minecraft. He's a big nerd and is very good with computers. I'm pretty sure I have a small crush on him. He's funny, kind and sweet. I'm not gonna tell him that though. Adam passed not too long ago and I don't want to just make Ace a rebound. But anyways back to the real reason I mentioned him. We are having a mall day and he was invited. Cas, Carter, Ace and I were all going to the mall. 

"Hey Sammy how are you?"

"Cassie! Hi! I'm good."

"Aye don't leave me out"

"Carter. How are you man?"

"Doin good but who is that?"

" Oh right. Guys this is Ace. He's a uh friend."

" Ah so this is the Ace guy you've been talking about"

"You talk about me?"

"Yeah a little."

As I introduced everyone to Ace Cas just had to say something about me talking about him. Oh well the rest of this mall trip should go well. After all we did deserve a break after what we have been through. It was nice to see all my friends again and not have to worry that we're gonna get killed by a monster. 

Ace's POV

Even though she's been through a lot with Adam's death Sam was still holding up really well. This mall trip will be a nice get away for her. While I knew some of the people joining us I wasn't sure how this trip would go. Sam is a pretty girl but I'm not sure she's my type. As Sam introduced me at the group we made our way to hottopic. Seems right for Sam and her friend group. It's nice to be out of the house and out with some hopefully new friends. As the day went on we got lunch and went in and out of stores. We didn't really buy much. Sam got some pins, Cas got a shirt, Carter didn't get anything, and I just got some snacks. We made some jokes and had a lot of fun. 

Cas's POV 

Sam seemed to happy for the first time in awhile. Ace made her happy. She was smiling and laughing. She was genuinely happy. Carter could even tell. While our group had been through a lot we still haven't really been friends too long maybe about a year or so. Sure that can be pretty long but Sam and I have known each other for longer then that Yeah she is my best friend but still. Anyways, it's nice to have a break from the dangerous life we live. As we make our way in and out of stores and crack jokes I notice this is kind of like a double date. With Sam and Ace being all cute and Carter holding my hand it's hard to not see it that way. In any case it's nice to have a little get together. Sure I might be trying to forget about Tamashi and Sam is trying to forget about Adam but I think we both are doing good.

Sam's POV 

As the mall trip came to an end and we all said our goodbyes I couldn't help but notice how handsome Ace is. I know I should take some time before I express interest in him but I can't help but think he's handsome.  Plus I don't wanna drag another person into this life just for them to end up like Adam. I've been through enough as is. I don't wanna ruin the happiness I have right now. My friends are happy and I'm happy. School has been kind of easy and things are going good. I don't wanna ruin this. I can't fall in love with him. He's sweet and so kind but that might just be him being a decent human. I have to keep him far away from the darkness.

Ace's POV

As I went home I realized Sam was and is the most amazing person. She's kind, funny, sweet, and cute. I know she's going through a lot so I'll give her time but I'll be there for her when I can. I hope she feels the same way I do. I'm not sure what she had to hide but I can tell there's a side to her I don't know. And I can't wait to uncover the truth. I just hope she doesn't mind me wanting to be apart of her life a little more. For now I'll give her space. She'll come to me in her own time hopefully. As the day came closer to an end Sam and I had been texting.

Sam: Yeah I had a good time. I hope you did too. We should hangout more. 

Me: Yeah that'd be great. You have some cool friends 

Sam: Lol yeah Case and Carter are chill. Hey maybe you could join us next time we hangout

Me: Sounds good to me

With that Sam and I had made plans to hangout again soon. I can't wait to see her again. I wonder what we'll do and where we'll be. I guess I'll figure it out when we hangout. 

Cas's POV

Sam had told me she invited Ace to our next group hangout. While I'm not sure how that will go I won't tell Sam about my worried as it would only make her worse. We can just enjoy the peace for a bit.

Hey guys hope this was a nice chapter. Trust me there won't just be filler chapters from here on out. I have a few ideas for some things to happen. Don't worry I'm not gonna kill anyone off. Here are some sodas. *Gives y'all sodas*
