17|This is a Little to Real

Sam's POV

I only wait 30 minutes till Katie got to the hospital. Soon after she got here Adam's parents got here. We all waited together and after an hour Katie fell asleep and his parents where about ready to ask the nurse at the desk what was going on that is till a doctor came in and told us he got out of surgery just fine. Apparently if the bullet was 2 inches closer to his heart he wouldn't have made it but lucky the doctors at this hospital were amazing at their jobs and got the bullet out and patched him up nicely. Along with the luck of terrible aim on the assailants part. The doctor gave us his room number, he also told us that Adam might not wake up till tomorrow. I volunteered to stay over night so he has someone here when he does wake up and no one argued with me. We all walked to his room to see how he was. His breathing was quite and slow. The heart monitor was beeping consistently so that's a good sign. Katie texted her parents to pick her up and Adam's parents went home to get sleep or at least try to. When Katie left I curled up in a chair close to the side of the bed and started to fall asleep. It had been a long day and I needed sleep. So much had happened today and I could only imagine how Cas felt.

Cas's POV

Dash had walked me home and my dad didn't ask any question. I just wanted to figure out what the hell was happening to me. But I'm so tired... I closed my eyes and slowly but surely the black nothingness that is sleep took over. But then I shot up. I was wide awake and I could tell I wasn't going to sleep unless I found a werewolf. I can't let this control my life. But right now I need to sleep. I snuck out and started doing some tracking in hope to find a wolf soon.

Dash's POV

Once I knew Cas was going to be safe I made my way home. When I got there my parents where on the porch and they didn't say much. Just that Sam and I need communicate with them more.

"So since you want us to communicate more. Sam's at the hospital with a friend..... He uh.... he got shot"

"Oh crap. Should we go see her"

"No she'll be ok for now"

"Ok..."

With that I went to my room and finished up some homework along with getting ready for bed. I was about to go to sleep when my phone went off.

"Sam? What's up"

"Dash I don't know if I can do this"

"What are you talking about. What's going on"

"I had a nightmare and I don't know if I can stay here"

"Sam just breath. It was only a dream. Your fine and you need sleep. Please just try and sleep"

"Ok yeah I guess your right"

"Goodnight sis"

"Goodnight bro bro"

I hung up and actually went to sleep this time. Man I didn't think my sister was that paranoid. It should wear off.

Sam's POV

When I got off the phone with my brother I curled back up in the chair and tried to sleep. I focused on the beeps of the heart monitor while trying my best to keep my thoughts in check. Eventually I did fall asleep but I don't think it was till like 2 am. I woke up however at 10. The room was still and quiet aside from the soft noises the machines were making. I grabbed my phone and checked to see if anyone tried to reach me. I had a few missed calls from Cas and some texts from Katie.

Katie😼: Hey Cas texted me and told me u didn't answer her so this is me checking on u. Call her when u can it seems urgent

Sam: Shit yeah I will. Sorry I was asleep and I didn't hear my phone go off

Katie 😼: It's fine just text or call Cas

Sam: Will do

With that I checked my voicemail and low and behold Cas did leave a voicemail.

"Hey Sam it's me...Cas. So I just wanted to call and tell you that there's something you should know. I feel it's better done in person so if you can give me a place to meet you we can meet up after school. I know your still at the hospital with Adam but this is important. Yeah just text me when you can. Thanks bye."

Cas seemed calm for the most part but there was something poking through the calm and it felt like fear. I realized I only had a few hours to make up my mind on whether or not I want to talk to her. I decided I could make a better decision if I had coffee so I went to find some coffee. I returned to Adam's room with coffee and better judgement. I texted Cas and told her to meet me at the park. Then Adam woke up.

"Holly shit your awake. Shit I have to get a nurse"

I ran and found a nurse she followed me and check up on Adam and he seemed fine aside from the obvious things.

"Wow where's my family at"

"Well your parents went home last night and I stayed with you"

"But why Sam"

"Because I couldn't just leave you in this hospital without a friend"

Adam's POV

I don't remember much from what happened so Sam filled me in. She also told me that Cas isn't doing so well and that she's going to meet up with her after school.

"Yeah that's another thing. Why aren't you in school right now"

"My mom said I could stay and school isn't as important as making sure your alive"

"That's nice and all but you shouldn't let stuff like this take over your life"

"It's not. I just need to know everything about what's going on with my friends because that's the only way I can make sure something like this doesn't happen again"

"Ok Sam"

I could tell she wasn't going to tell me why she really was here but I know it has something to do with her family. She better get her shit together soon.

Cas's POV

After school I got to that park as fast as I possibly could and when I did get there Sam was already waiting for me

"Hey Sam"

"What's up Cas"

We hugged and made our way to the hide out.

"So what is it you need to talk to me about"

"Oh yeah right. So you know what happened with the hole werewolf thing"

"Yeah I was there for some of it. Also I'm sorry for freaking out like I did"

"It's ok I forgive you. Anyways what I really wanted to tell you is that.... What you accused me of is .....is true. But that's not the full story. I also have psychic powers or something like that. I had a few visions ready......"

I looked up and Sam was in utter shock.

" Uh Sam are you ok"

"Give me a second. I'm trying to process this"

We stood there in a bit of awkward silence. But once Sam did understand what I had said she spoke up.

" So your telling me what I read was true"

"What did you read and will it help us. I need to know more about this"

"I found a book that had something about what your going through in it. But it wasn't werewolf blood"

"What was it"

"Demon blood"

And with those two words life as Sam and I knew was over.
