60| Devils' Taxi

Sam's POV

We finished up research for the night and went to bed. After all we still have to go to school and stuff like that. Ace, Cas and I said our goodnights and headed to bed. Ace had texted me afterwards though.

Ace: Hey I just wanted to say I enjoyed being on call with you. We should do it more often

Me: Yeah I did too. We totally should. Sorry for the weird content for the research.

Ace: Nah it's cool. It's actually kinda interesting

Me: That's good to hear. Well gnight Ace

Ace: Gnight Sam

Ace is so kind. I'm glad he didn't find Cas and I weird. I also kinda hope he doesn't go digging any further cause I don't wan to pull him into this life. 

Katie's POV

New day new hope in finding leads for this case. So far I've got nothing. Cas and Sam just have some basic info on demons and how to deal with them. Sam, Cas and I are gonna scope out an are to try and lore the taxi to us after school today. While we aren't sure what level demon to be expecting it probably isn't a higher level demon. After all only low level demons are really the only ones that make deals. As the school day slowly drags to an end I meet up with Sam so we could get to Cas asap. I wanted to get a spot fast so we could then come up with a plan. I was thinking we could use Sam as bait cause she rarely ever is and is probably the most vulnerable to demons. Sure she may also be the least mentally ok for this job she fits the targets. 

"Katie what happens if something goes wrong and Sam actually sells her soul"

"You think that little of me Cassie?"

"No I'm not saying you'll cave or some shit like that I'm just worried about you"

"Cas she'll be ok. This is Sam we're talking about. Worst case we just have picker her up from a different location" 

"I guess you guys are right. Sorry I just don't wanna lose anyone"

"I get it Cassie. Just have a little more trust in me"

With that out of the way we find a good spot on a major road by Sam's house. We decided to wait till next weekend to do anything more about this. It might not be the best idea as the taxi may end up taking more souls but there isn't much we can do. 

Cas's POV

Katie was the leader this time around as she did find the case. Sam seemed to be doing a lot better. I have a feeling in part because of Ace. I'm holing up pretty well even though sometimes I think about Tamashi. Not much I can do now though. I brush away the thoughts of the past and focus on the ramen now sitting in front of me. We had went back to Sam's house for an after school snack. Katie was Talking about crystals and some other stuff like that while Sam intently listened. I was more worried about the case and what might happen if Ace find out the research wasn't just for a book. I'm sure Sam has some sort of plan but I'm still a little nervous about it. 

Sam's POV

Katie and Cas soon left my house and I decided to take this time to call Ace. I also kind of wanted to play Minecraft so after I made sure everything was ready for school tomorrow I hopped on call with Ace. We played until we both were pretty much passing out. The rest of the week flew by. I knew Saturday was gonna be interesting but I still thought the week would be a bit of a drag. Well the day has come. Time to see if I can draw out this taxi. As I stand on the side of the major road at the top of my street I make sure to take note of small thing like people in the area. Though it seemed only Cas and Katie where around. Oh well I won't think too much of this. I started to think about some of the things I had done in the past and how much I wish i could change. That's when I noticed the taxi pulling up. A blue taxi with the numbers 666-999 on the side of it. I didn't have time to take note of the license plate or company name. But I trust one of my friends got pictures. As the taxi rolls up next to me I turn to see who was driving. There was a guy who looked to be in his 30's driving. He seemed to be kind of smiling almost. 

"Need a ride Sam?"

"How do you know my name?"

"All us lower level demons know about you and your friends. All alone Sammy?"

"Don't call me that"

I tried my best not to let the fact that he knows my name get to me. I also didn't want to seem scared do With all the courage I could I tried to stay confident and stern. I couldn't let this demon know I was worried. I took a step back as this thing continued to talk. 

"Aw come one Sammy. I thought you liked us demons. Or wait. That was you r best friend wasn't it?"

With venom and cockiness laced in his voice I changed the subject as to not let him have the upper hand.

"I want a ride to the Miles More Hotel. Can you do that demon trash?"

"It'll coast ya cause of that mouth of yours"

"Fine just take me"

"Get in ass hat"

With that I pulled the door open and got in. As the demon pulled off I pulled out some cash.

"You won't be able to buy your way out of this you bitch. You killed my friends"

"Oh? I thought demons didn't have friends?"

"Well we do. You low life humans just don't know that"

"Oh is that right?"

"Yeah"

The cab fell silent and I ran through all the things that could happen as of now. I just hope he doesn't kill me.

Boom another chapter lol. Have some sodas for making it this far *gives sodas to you guys*. I hope the book has been good up to this point. I am really enjoying writing this
