Chapter 25: Run

Six years later.

It is said that running is meant to keep you moving forward and never to look back unless it's only to see how far you've come. Gaano na ba kalayo ang tinakbo ko? At gaano na ba katagal akong tumatakbo?

At exactly five a.m., my alarm clock woke me up. Feeling empty, I dressed up and went out for a morning jog. I went to the kitchen to fill my tumbler with water.

"Good morning everyone," I greeted our house helps who were all busy sipping their coffee. I caught Kuya Alvin yawning.

I smiled, "Puyat ka yata, Kuya Alvin?"

And after Ate Cynthia confirmed it, Kuya Alvin burst out crying because of too much happiness. He keeps on shouting that's he's gonna be a father soon.

I smiled as I watched them all celebrate. But it quickly faded.

I was about to leave when I bumped into Tanya, with a white towel wrapped around her head. She blushed in embarrassment.

"Pasensya na po, Young Master," she immediately apologized, looking down.

I chuckled to ease her tension, "I'm fine. But please just call me Colder. Young Master is too formal."

"I'm your employee. I should address you formally," she insisted.
.

"Well then, call me 'Sir' when we're at work, but that's it. No buts," I smiled at her, and she blushed even more. Some things never change.

"Prepare my coffee and don't forget my schedule for today. I'll be back at 6," I reminded her as I started making my way out of the mansion.

I began jogging in our spacious front yard. The cool morning air kissed my skin. I put on my earpods and set my watch timer for a 30-minute jog.

Here comes that nostalgic feeling again. The noises I can't silence in my mind. No matter how far I run, it's still chasing me.

I stopped in front of our tall gate. With my hands on my knees, gasping for air. I noticed the paint on the gate was fading and needed repainting. It was then I realized how many years had passed. They say time heals us, but sadly, the truth is, it only hurts us even more.

Tanya followed me as I entered the office. She reminded me about my appointments and meetings for today. She's a competent secretary unlike my former butler before—well, I only remember him now.

I removed my coat and hung it on the back of my swivel chair. After Helius left, I took over all his responsibilities.

What can I do? Eros is still enjoying his life at twenty-five. His excuse is still that he's soul-searching.
