Aug 30 - 5 days later

They changed plans concerning the serum. Stan and Saf polished because it's a gift and a promise. One that should last and harness as the person goes its own path and reminds of the purpose they have been longing to grasp in their hands.

In the lab, the ones present are y/n and the two doctors. The doctors can feel the cold sweat running down their necks, then their backs. Y/n is sitting still that if pre-occupied, she'll be invisible in that person's sight in the laboratory.

Lizzie and Nile had always been accepted in the lab, but for the safety of everyone, they had to wait at the theater and trust them. Nile just arrived after accomplishing the demands in the station.

Mrs. L/n and Lizzie are sitting together in the chair in front of the right aisle. Holding each other's hands to ease their anxieties and refrain their unnecessary thoughts from surfacing. It's a life-threatening situation because who knows? Mrs. L/n might know what's going on, but she cannot measure how deep they bury her foot.

Lizzie knows she will thrive because she's brave. Y/n have overthinked a bunch of things, but one thing she will not think through is looking the threat in its eye, whatever it might carry.

It's that gaze that sets the stage.

Inside those two months, she shows everything. Her weakness, strengths, flaws, peeves, passions and interests. Most of it as the events unfold in front of me. Almost without saying them. It might be detrimental during relationship bonds, but it was amazing to see her as a walking "action speaks louder than words."

"Here we go." Stan said, then injects the serum.

The serum swims through the bloodstream to find the target cells with the help of a guide molecule. It is unnecessary to change everything since is y/n is not striving to be Captain America or Carter.

Y/n fell asleep, a sign that the rewriting is happening. She has a lot of abilities that gave her enough energy to survive a week without sleep. She still experiences exhaustion, but only during a mutation.

In the DNA, the artificial ones' heads to the originals and replace those that are changed by the earlier continuous mutation, using a DNA cutting enzyme. After the re-scripting, the helix is complete.

It does not look damaged, and the endless remodelling has ended.

. . . . . . .

Y/n hears herself panting. She takes a deep breath, a powerful pull to get an air to confirm she was awake. The cold air enters her nostrils and fills her lungs - Yes, another chance to live. Although at the back of her mind, she doesn't have any idea where she is, but the filtered breeze, the sound of the air-conditioner and machines beeping, and the freezing temperature of the room. She can imagine vividly that it's a laboratory or a hospital.

As she opens her eyes, the blinding fluorescent light stares down at her. Blinking a few more and her sight wanders. "Welcome back." Stan greeted.

The two doctors are smiling. "How are you feeling?" Saf asks.

Seeing them made her extremely uncomfortable.

Something changed.

Her brows furrows, hesitating to point, but did it anyway. "You... you have yellow-" Y/n is out of words for what she is seeing, so she kept staring and tries to touch it, only to discover her hand will pass through.

"Yes, we know. Just relax and don't make conclusion yet. Focus on this moment with us." Saf gives her a glass of water and she drinks it top-to-bottom. "That's refreshing." She puts the glass on the table beside her.
