*Saffron's POV*

"Scan complete." the diagnostic scanner notified. Stan flinches in his seat and proceed to check it. "Want some coffee?" I ask. He clears his throat. "No, I'm good." He said, then proceed typing something on the computer.

I went to my station after wearing my gloves and coat. "Saf." Stan called. "What is it?" I walk towards to him. "Wait, is that-" I cut myself off when I saw the screen.

Aside from being a doctor, I also had a general knowledge with computers and how to configure broken or create systems, programs. That was my father's job before he passed away.

Who would have thought teaching me those things would be handy in the future?

"Davidson, can you tell us the summary of the findings?" I ask.

My father told me that this diagnostic system that he created for me can have an AI feature if I want to. I found the manual a few days ago and the rest of the days before this is spent on configuring how to include, because this is a great tool in helping us find out how we can create the serum y/n needs so that she can be back to normal.

"These are the initials results for patient one. A mutation has successfully occurred. The immune system is working beyond a hundred percent in combating the unknown host in the patient's leg. Here is the official 3d reanimation of the said mutation and how it affects the patient's body at the present." Davidson explained.

Another screen appears, in the reanimation we can see the whole body of a person and its systems. The lower body is covered in purple while the upper has different colors representing each of the body parts by system.

There is this bright yellow sort of like cells flowing, I assume, in the bloodstream, heading to the affected area.

"The movement of the unidentified toxin has stopped. I retraced patient one's condition record that I detected in the archive. Comparing it to the present, the body was able to stabilize with the help of the mutation that occurred. Regenerating on its own up to twenty-five percent capacity. Chance of living increased." Davidson said.

I cover my mouth in shock. I look at Stan and he was surprised too, but he was happy and relieved.

"Are there any other mutations occurring?" I ask. "Yes, I can detect three mutations incoming, one states that it can enhance the patient's vision. The other mutation that occurred enhanced the person's fight or flight response." Davidson said.

"Ok, alert us for the next findings. You help us a lot. Thank you." I said. "Glad to serve you." Davidson said, then a pixelated smiley appeared before it disappears.

I smiled, my father always say that when somebody thanks him on the job. "Guess you're not going to die." I said.

"You're not sure. They are still out there." Stan said. "Yeah, but who knows? Maybe y/n herself can save you. She's now what you expect her to be." I lean on the table near him.

"I'm thankful Ross included regeneration in his request. For now, all that matters is y/n is healing, we got more time in our hands and yes, I didn't die." He said and smiled at me.

I nod and pat his shoulder. "Come on, let's take a break. My treat."

After giving y/n an hour to breathe and think. Lizzie went on the field to fetch her. She made sure she will stay there, anything can happen if she close her eyes.

"Let's go inside? I put back the pillow and blanket you used. If you're hungry, I'll make breakfast." Lizzie said while walking towards her.

Instead of saying something, y/n move away, flashing the light on her phone around looking for something. "Y/n." Lizzie called.

No answer. She just keep going.

"What are you doing?" Lizzie ask. Not far on the north part of the field, there is a broken branch with a lot of leaves dangling on the side. She pulls it repeatedly until it tore off the tree.

"Really?! You can't be serious." She said while watching y/n heading back to where she saw her and put the branch there.

Y/n moves a bit on the front of her wheelchair, preparing to go down on the ground when Lizzie pulls the branch away. "What the fuck?! Give it back! That's my sleeping mat!" Y/n tried to reach for it but she throws it farther away.

"Are you crazy?! I have a house that can fit at least fifteen people and you choose to stay here?! Oh my- This is ridiculous. You gotta be kidding me." Instead of talking to her, she moves towards the branch.

"You're not going to sleep on that." Lizzie pulls the branch before she can even go there and put it back to where she got it.

"Argh! Fuck you! Let me go! Argh!" Y/n said while punching Lizzie's leg.

Lizzie walks back to y/n and pick her up like a sack. They are now heading back to the house.

Putting her gently back to the couch. Y/n reaches for a pillow and tries to smack her. "Can you please stop?!" She did it again. Lizzie grabs the pillow and put it on the other chair.

Y/n transfer to the floor and tried to crawl her way into the kitchen. "Ugh. Please!" Lizzie walks and grabs her by the waist, puts her back into the couch, grabs the blanket and tries to put it on her.

"Listen to me." She said. Y/n didn't respond and tries to get away from the blanket. "Y/n." When she realized she can't get out of it, she started hitting Lizzie. "This is all your fault!"

Annoyed by what y/n did. Lizzie didn't wait for things to get worse. She puts the blanket on her, making sure y/n's hands are inside and climb on top of her so that she can't escape. "Argh! Get off me!" Y/n said while trying to break free.

"You won't listen to me right? I won't get off unless you decide to hear me out." Lizzie said. She lays down putting all her weight. "Fuck you! Argh!" She said still trying.

After a few minutes of struggling, she started crying and repeatedly telling her to get off while cussing or she would blame her for everything and that she hates it there.

Worried that she might hurt her for laying too much on top of her. Lizzie sits up, move her to the side, then hug her tightly, while caressing her back and wiping her tears from time to time.

6 am

The house is quiet again. Y/n cried until she fall asleep, thanks to Lizzie combing her hair with her hand. She can't do anything about it, since her hands are blocked because of the blanket, she let it shut her off.

Lizzie lays there looking at her sleeping face, wondering about all that just happened and planning on what she should do to fix this.

I can't ask her grandma. I promised she will be safe here and I failed.

She exhales and another person appears in her mind.

Yes, that's right! Avery!

She slowly stands, making sure not to wake y/n, then calls Avery in the dining.
