*Lizzie's POV*

8:30 am

We are all in the kitchen and we just told Stan and everyone else what had just happened.

"Here, drink this." Saf puts a glass of water and a medicine in front of me. "I knew this would happen. I told you, I don't know that much, which means - " Stan pauses. Everyone looks at him. "It includes what abilities I implanted in her. It's not guaranteed a hundred percent that- that's all she will get-"

"And you are telling us now? You lied in her face! And you lied to us again! Saf, do you know this?" I interrupt. Saf shakes her head no. "My role was to make sure y/n will survive the gene editing process, and I did. I should have asked him more about it because sometimes I really want to. Like I have this unexplainable urge. But then I brushed it off because that was his job. What do I even know about what he was doing?" Saf replied.

"Yes, I know I lied. But to me, it's not a harmful defect. A 0.5 which might not do something significant." Stan said.

"I should have told her to ask you for a few more days so that she can think this through." I grab the medicine.

This is really frustrating. The worst part was to hear that y/n was desperate for a solution. Is my help useless all this time?

I thought I got it, but I still didn't.

I slammed my hand on the table. "Lizzie, I hate to say it, but get some rest. Your fever is getting worse-"

"Do we have to? I just can't fathom the idea of containing her. There must be another way."

"Do you know she is the only one who can help herself?" Jonathan said. "What?"

"Stop helping her. She knows what she's doing. Your idea of how she's supposed to get better might hinder her recovery." Marj replied. I look at them and I just can't help but to laugh to this ridiculous idea. "Really? Mrs. L/n?"

"Dear, this is what I feel is right... As a grandmother who is confident and excited, knowing her was the hardest. This will help. I'm sure of it." Mrs. L/n replied.

Stan stands up. "Look, Mrs.L/n, Lizzie... I'm sorry if I lied. I thought it will mean nothing—I tried. I'll do my best to fix this and to answer your question. It seems like we must."

He said the plan was her powers should harm nobody, and he failed to secure that. This time we've agreed that I can meddle with all the decisions for the containment except the ones they are sure of the outcome. They also agreed that both Jonathan and I are now allowed to go to the lab, but we must follow the protocols every single time we enter. Jonathan will be responsible for the technical things to check regularly.

I'm not sure if they will incorporate David in this plan, but it sounds like they will.

1:00 pm

I wake up and felt better compared earlier.

The room was cleaned already. My bag and shoes were in their places and there's a set of clothes on the couch.

After changing, I head to the kitchen and Saf was preparing something. "You're ok already?" She asked when she heard me opening the fridge. I didn't reply because another thing, the house is quiet.

"Your temperature was so high earlier—I was planning to transfer you to the lab. This is the first time that I felt like I was back in an emergency room because I must make sure I won't send you to one... And then y/n asked me about it and helped before her containment."

"Was it her who cleaned the room? Where's Alex? Did she go home?" I head to the living room to check. "No, she's in the lab with everyone and yes, it was her."
