It is dinner, Lizzie volunteered to cook and she just fetched y/n in their room. While waiting for the others, Lizzie serves her an enough amount and then prepares the medicine.

Stan, Saffron and Nile arrives. "That smells nice. Guess it's a real food this time." Stan said. Lizzie glances at Saffron. "It's been a week since he eat one. His stomach is filled with beer and crackers." Saffron said.

In the middle of their quiet dinner, y/n pulls Lizzie's sleeve.

Can you please ask them about their initial findings?

Lizzie nods. "Um, Stan. Did you find any initial results right after the diagnostics?"

"Yeah, it's too late to create a neutralizer. The mutation has began. Thanks for reminding me." Stan said, then takes a sip from the glass. Lizzie looks at y/n.

"Stan, what do you mean by mutation? You never said that earlier." The auto-generated voice asks. He looks at y/n then glances at Saf who nods at him.

"I forgot to mention that I created a serum named Apofevgro and Ostilirium." He said, then gives a notebook to James and he passes it to Lizzie.

"It is the main reason why both of us are going to die. I thought Ross was first going to test it in an animal that he bought, but no. You have become the test subject. And now he wonders why it is missing and he threatens to kill me." Stan said while shaking his head no.

"Maybe Ross isn't the one who put it in the shell." Nile replied.

Lizzie gives the notebook to y/n. Stan and Nile looks at each other.

"Chris." They said in unison after realizing.

. . . . .

After dinner, y/n stayed in the dining with Lizzie and Saf who's doing some chores. She opens the notebook that Stan gave for her to see.

The first few pages are plans on making the said serum. There are dates that have been scribbled and there are steps that have been crossed out.

She casually browse on the next pages until she found what Stan was referring earlier.

The notes are messy but according to it, the serum will enhance your fight or flight response. Helping you see the next 5 - 10 possibilities of a way out. There was nothing sure that is crucial aside that since the next pages are for predicting the results and the process of making.

There is a prediction that the patient might develop either night-vision, seeing temperature or energies, enhanced hearing and enhanced strength, boosting the immunity system to a hundred percent.  The others were crossed out but she didn't care, all y/n wants is to know an answer to her question.

In between the Apofevgro and Ostilirium section, there is a page that explains how the predictions mentioned will happen - through DNA mutation.

So he applied gene editing for this to work? Huh?

The first page is already overwhelming but y/n is able to grasp the idea of Stan creating a special enzyme that will be vital for the DNA sequencing which will trigger the mutation. Creating the irregularity is on purpose but he made sure that it will be in sync again - no errors.

It has to be, or else it will produce an illness or disorder.

The Ostilirium is the opposite of Apofevgro. When injected, the person instantly enters the three phases that leads to death.

There is an introductory symptom... The test subject will faint during the first strike, the Ostilirium will rapidly spread familiarizing the target's body first and then it will return to the place it was injected to start...

A slow and unbearable pain that will kill the subject in the process...

Y/n flinches to the ringing of her phone in her jacket's pocket. Lizzie glances to the noise and y/n gestured to her to come.

"Hello?" Alex asks. "It's Lizzie. Y/n can't speak for the mean time because she has an awful sore throat. She is asking why you called." Lizzie said, then sits beside y/n.

"Well, I was planning to give a surprise visit since it is my legit day off. Looks like i'm the one who is surprised. Where are you two? Are you on vacation?"

The two giggled. "Sadly no, we can't tell you right now because somebody might be tracking our devices. We'll tell you everything on your next visit. Y/n said she's sorry and will try to make it up to you." Lizzie said while glancing at y/n.

Y/n smiled. "Too bad. Anyway, hope you're both safe and alright. Bye." Alex said.

"Don't worry, we are, and I'm making sure of it. Bye." Lizzie said. Alex chuckles and the call ends.
