Abuja, Nigeria.

"Wait, I'm really scared, Nan! What if I get caught?" Safiyya whispered into her phone. She paused, listening, before speaking again.

"I know... I know I'm brave, but this is really risky."

"Okay... I'll go meet her now." She hid her phone, put on a hijab, and quietly slipped out of the house.

A black-tinted BMW was parked behind the house. Seeing nobody watching, Safiyya quickly hopped into the car.

"How are you doing?" the woman in the car asked with a smile.

"Scared as hell."

"Shh... don't worry. I'm here. I'll help you out. Just stay calm and relax."

"Insha'Allah... So how's this going to work?" Safiyya asked as the lady explained the plan.

"Are you sure she'll be there?" the lady asked.

"Ninety-eight percent sure. I overheard her talking to Banina on the phone."

"Alright. I'll be there to make sure everything goes as planned."

"Okay, Aunty Fadeela. See you there." Safiyya smiled, hugged her, and got out of the car.

Aunty Fadeela smiled as she took out her phone and dialed a number.

"I promise you, Nan, today you'll finally see her after thirteen years. Start celebrating."

"Ya Jalal, please," she pouted, following him into his room.

"By the way, you're leaving for the office soon, and I'll be all alone. Please let me go, Ya Jalal," she added, sitting on his lap and playing with his beard.

"What's this all about?" he asked, studying her face.

"It's a fest. Our friends will be setting up a stall and selling their stuff, so we're going to support and show some love."

Jalal stared at her for a few moments, then picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"How safe could a fest be?"

"Eighty percent safe, sir. Security officials will be present."

"Thank you," Jalal said, ending the call.

"So am I good to go now?" she asked, giving him a cheeky smile.

"The driver will take me to the house, and then Banina and I will leave from there."

"I'll come pick you up at four, Jalilah," he said. She pouted, but seeing no room for argument, she nodded.

"Thanks, Ya Jalal. Have a nice day." She pecked him before sliding off his lap.

"Have fun, wifey." He planted a soft kiss on her lips before heading to the door. But before he could leave, she ran up and hugged him from behind.

"I'm going to miss you," she whispered, drawing a chuckle from him.

"Skip the fest and come to the office with me," he teased, turning to her with a smile.

"Is that even possible?" she laughed.

"Very possible, wifey."

"Well, we'll see about that tomorrow," she said, giving him a final hug before he left.

But minutes after Jalal left, Jalilah suddenly felt less enthusiastic about the fest. She wished she'd gone with him. Then Banina's call came in, reigniting her excitement, so she got ready and left with the driver. As she left, Safiyya quietly slipped out as well.
