The beginning is the most important part of the work. Yes, but it was the furthest part from the end. When Tommy could rest, he had been helping Sapnap collect warped planks in the nether for what seemed like hours.

"Are we done yet?" he groaned, the warrior looked back at Tommy.

"We started an hour ago," he said, returning to his harvesting. Tommy shifted his gold helmet; it was too hot for any form of armour and he had a special affiliation with gold. The reason he avoided the nether so that he didn't have to wear it. It wasn't like Tommy wasn't trying to make conversation and get along with the demon. Sapnap just didn't seem to be interested. The lava making the rings on Sapnap's hands shine, right into Tommy's eyes. He looked at them, there were two?

"Since when were you married?" Tommy asked, Sapnap paused mid chopped.

"Engaged" he corrected him

"But there's two, oh" Tommy frowned "who are they? One of them isn't Gogy is it?" Sapnap laughed.

"No Tommy, it's Quackity and Karl," he said, continuing to chop.

"You're married to big Q?!" Tommy just couldn't comprehend it and Karl too. He rarely ever saw that guy.

"Engaged" Sapnap corrected him again,

"Cool" he said, the two fell into silence again.

"Do you have a special someone Tommy?" Sapnap asked, breaking the awkward tension.

"No, the women can wait. Even though they love me, I'm too poggers for a girlfriend as of now" Tommy boasted, Sapnap smirked.

"Okay then". He paused, "do you want to hear a joke?" Tommy nodded. "What would happen if you ever fought a dinosaur?"

"I would win"

"No tommy, you'd get jurasskicked" Sapnap said snickering a little, Tommy grinned

"That was stupid"

"No it wasn't, it was funny"

"No"

"Yes it was, see you're smiling," Sapnap said, his tone jokingly defensive. The two shared a grin, Sapnap looked at his inventory. "How many stacks do you have?" he asked. Tommy checked.

"About 4 and 36 left over"

"Okay I have 6 and 2 left over that's" Sapnap trailed off doing the calculations.

10 times 64 equals 640 plus 38, 678. Logs, that's 678 times four.

"2712" Tommy said. Sapnap looked at him

"What?"

"2712 planks," Tommy repeated.

"How did you do that so fast?" Sapnap asked, his respect for the blonde rascal had definitely increased.

"I used to get tested on how fast I could add things up back in the lab," Tommy admitted. "Do you want me to hold on to these or give them to you?"

"What? Why were you tested in a lab?" Sapnap asked. "And yes throw them to me please"

"I was made in a lab Sapnap," Tommy said casually as he threw the logs to he companion.

"WHAT!" Sapnap yelped, sure he was a demon. But you'd never have seen that coming. Tommy looked over at him.

"Did you never realise that I didn't have parents?" Tommy asked as the two headed back to the portal.

"I thought Phil was your dad!" Tommy laughed

"no , Phil's Techno and Will's dad, I thought It would have been common knowledge that Tommyinnit has no parents but would hang out with Technoblade. The man who hates orphans. There's some seriously flawed logic in that"

"Aren't you still technically an orphan?" Tommy shook his head.

"You can't be an orphan if you never had parents to begin with," he said lightly. Sapnap went quiet for a moment.

"Does it bother you?" he asked

"What?"

"All the questions I'm asking"

"Not necessarily." Tommy admitted, although thinking back to Techno and Phil. He shook his head. "Not at all, you can keep asking, but walk and talk" Sapnap breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Okay, who is your creator?" straight to the point there. Tommy shrugged,

"I don't really remember, it's all fuzzy. I never outright saw him I guess"

"Do you remember what the place looked like?" Sapnap asked, he was far more intrigued in Tommy's life than Tommy himself was.

"Yeah, lots of stone and it had an end portal, deactivated of course. And there was someone else there. I guess I may have had a brother of sorts."

"Maybe you should find him," Sapnap suggested.

"Maybe, Puffy said that going too far back can lead to harmful problems. She suggested against it when I brought it up"

"Puffy, said it was a bad idea? Wow, that doesn't sound like Puffy at all" Sapnap said as they approached the portal.

"Yeah it was weird, but I guess she wants me to focus on my current problems" Tommy said as he jumped through the portal. Waiting for Sapnap on the other side.

"Dressing fresh wounds before looking at old scars" he said once he too was in the overworld. "Makes sense" he added, although a small grin crept onto his face. A cheeky one if Tommy dared to say it.

"But, if you ever get curious, it could be an outing for us" he gave the younger of the two a friendly nudge with his elbow. "Puffy did say we needed to get over our differences, isn't that what today was about?" Tommy nodded, as they headed towards Kinoko Kingdom.

"I think it would be a pretty good idea" Tommy said, "but Puffy can't know"

"Puffy won't know" agreed Sapnap as the mushroom land came into sight. The two bid each other goodbyes and headed their separate directions.

Puffy was outside when Tommy approached. Tending to her precious flowers of course.

"Tommy! How did you and Sapnap go?"

"Well he's alive so good" Tommy replied.

"Talk about anything interesting?" she asked as she pruned her rose with a pair of shears.

Tommy smiled, his mind traveling flicking fuzzy memories of where he came from.

"No"

He paused, "Nothing of interest"
