『ARC THREE: AGENCIES AND CRYSTALS』

Strips of bright sunlight filtered through the panes of glass, lighting up every nook and cranny it could find. Some shadows managed to survive, hiding in the darkness where the ribbons of light could not touch them despite the great effort. At times, the rays would hit random pieces of decorative glass and the light would convert into a splash of colors that resembled a rainbow.

A quiet sigh slipped free from Tomohiro's lips. The pen in his grasp twirled in between his fingers as he lightly glared at the paper in front of him. The neatly printed words converted their thoughts perfectly but the Hero still could not find the reason as to why paperwork was relevant. Paperwork as a Pro was tedious and pricked his nerves more than it should have. Now more than ever. His free hand rested on the top of the wooden desk, the tips of his fingers sometimes tapping against the surface in a rhythmic tone.

Readjusting the pen in his hand, he pressed the tip onto the paper as his signature was painted across the sheet. With a final loop, he plucked the sheet up and place it into its respective pile before being greeted by another. Unconsciously, his eyes darted to the clock resting upon the wall. The hand ticked by with every second, moving at a mechanical pace. 2:43 P.M.

His attention shifted back to the task at hand. Mizu released soon so that mean that the twins, Kagemi, and Yua would be arriving at home shortly. So far, Kohei had not called him concerning anything so that hopefully meant nothing went wrong with Reflective Crystallization. Or Tomohiro hoped that was the case. His lips pressed together into a thin line as his mind recalled Saturday night. He may have told Akihiko the truth about some things but he kept a thing or two hidden. It was not that he wanted to but he felt like he needed to. This Quirk evolution was strange and not at all warranted.

A Quirk only evolved when the user was in danger or in a life-threatening situation. Something that forced the Quirk to create a new factor in order to protect the user. However, from his time with the twins and that being ten years, he never left them in danger. When they were young, they were either with him, Kohei, Sumiko, Phantom, or Puppeteer. Shishi would babysit at times but it would not be for long. Anytime there was a Villain fight, Tomohiro stayed clear of anything dangerous. Once they were old enough, he did let the twins see fights from afar but they never were in real danger.

The only thing that Tomohiro could make heads and tails of was the fact that perhaps this Quirk evolution happened far before he met Akihiko or Tanami. That evolution never had a reason to come out in all these years and it only appeared now because something had set it off. It may have revealed itself in small doses, hidden from plain view that even the ink-haired male could not distinguish it when it came out. But now, what had set it off now? What caused it to reveal itself?

His hand rested on the table for a few moments as he simmered on those questions for a while. When he could not connect any puzzle pieces to create a clear picture, he pinched the bridge of his nose. It was pretty easy to see that he was not going to get an answer any time soon. Instead, he chose to stare at the paper with boredom. Why did so many things need his signature?
