I sat on my bed talking to my dad as Carlos was asleep on the couch I didn't get to talk to Carlos when I woke up he was asleep so he didn't even know I was awake
"How long was I out for ?" I questioned
"10 days .. they were worried that you wouldn't wake up but look again you my beautiful boy awake .. alive ."
"They didn't give me any -"
" no I told them that you wouldn't want that ."
"Thank you .." I said criss-cross apple sauce as my dad saw me looking at Carlos he was so cute curled up in a little balm covered with a blanket
"I met your boyfriend.." my dad said moving my heart to my throat
"He's a good kid I like him .." my dad followed
"That's good .." I said quietly
"That boy loves you you know ." My dad said
"What ?" I said kinda surprised
"I went to the cafeteria after he asked to spend some time with you I came back and heard him say it .." my dad said stroking my hair out of my face
"He was probably just saying that because of the state I was in," I said looking at him
"No, he meant it I you could tell ."
" I think you two need to talk .. " he said smiling at me
"Do you want me to wake him up for you ?" My dad said
I looked at Carlos sleeping peacefully
"Nah let him sleep," I said
"Alright text me if you need anything alright I'm only a phone call away ."
"Dad that's what the nurses' buttons for ." I laughed
"Right ." He said
