"Ugh! Why do I have to help clean! I have important quest's to go on!" I wined as I helped Maxwell move the couch back over. Papa was adjusting the TV to play all egimacational chanels. "Because my mother's commin. And if she sees one thing wrong with the house she'll try and move in. Plus, Gertrude's parent's hate me." "I didn't even know you had a mom Papa." Maxwell said. "That's because the last time she had an excuse to come Sally had just discovered waffles, and Spencer had just figured out about video games." Papa grumbled. But just when I discovered video games? I was really young. "What about mama Gertrude's parent's? What about them?" Maxwell asked. "They never liked me. They wanted nothing to do with me, or any of my kids. Even if their own daughter begged like Sally wanting waffles." Papa said. He had a large coat of hate on his voice. So this would be the first time we would meet them. Would they be nice? Or would they criticize me about my lisp? I would know tomorrow.
*The next day*
"Spencer, honey. Time to get up." My mama's voice calls. I stand up and got ready. Today was the day. I went into the kitchen. I was the last one to get here. I sat and began devouring the waffles. Until the doorbell rung. Everyone at the table froze at once. Papa nearly chocked. Mama got up to answer the door. "Gertrude! Dear! It's been a while." A old country voice broke through the house. Papa's mom no doubt about it. I hear talking coming from the hall. The only voice I could clearly pick out was the country one. Country and loud. Just like Papa. I heard them coming down the hall and we all began stuffing waffles in our mouths. Mama came back into the kitchen with a lady with graying black hair, another lady with dyed red hair, and a man with grey hair. The lady with graying black hair walked up to Papa. "Hello honey! How have you been?" She was the loud country lady. "Hello mom.I'm good." Papa sounded annoyed. So the man and woman had to be mama's parents. With that I stuffed a chunk of waffles in my mouth. Grandma Accachalla looked at all of us at the table. "Hi kids. I'm your Papa's mama, y'all can call me grandma Accachalla or whatever you wish." She smiled. "Mom, name all their name's." Papa said. Grandma looked at us blankly. "Ha! You don't even know your grandkids names!" The other lady shot at her. Grandma Accachalla made a 'I should shoot you face'. Like the one Papa always used with us. "If this is gonna turn out bad, we can go." Sally said. She made her 'Please let us leave' face. "No." Mama said. She glared at the adults. Maxwell cracked up laughing at Papa's terrified face. "What are you laughing at?" Papa asks. "At the fact that mom scares the heck out of you!" Maxwell says. Papa glares at him. Maxwell only laughs. "Maxwell be nice." Mama tells him. "Yes ma'am." "Son doesn't listen to you too well." Grampa states. "None of them do." He murmurs back. "That's because we like mama more than you. Didn't we have this conversation?" Maxwell just poked the bear. "Run! He's gonna explode!" Sally screams. We all ran. Except Maxwell. Me and Billy had to drag him. We ran all the way up to the tree house. Me and Billy carrying a struggling Maxwell. When we were safe, I went and grabbed my emergency computer and headphones. We sat up here for at least an hour. Then mama said it was safe.
We went in to see Papa arguing with Grandpa.
It was about us kids...
