*District 21: Bullpen*
After Alderman James Burton of the 24th ward was gunned down this morning in the financial district, the Intelligence team was called in to take the case.
Ana was currently in her usual spot at the Office doorway and looked over as Kim walked in from the Basement/Garage Area with Hank right behind her.
"Hey, we got a list of pissed-off locals from the alderman's secretary." The female Officer informed, handing Jay a file which he then gave to his partner. "There's at least 50 names."
"We weren't able to get video of the male black Finnegan saw at the Crown Pub." Hailey sighed from her desk.
"What about the alderman's personal belongings?" Ana inquired as her husband stopped a few feet in front of her.
"His phone has no signal, no hits on his credit cards, and his Rolex hasn't popped up in any pawn shops yet." Kevin replied from where he was perched on Adam's desk.
"I thought you should know the alderman's wife is on TV expressing concern about Chicago PD's dedication to black politicians." Trudy spoke up, appearing at the top of the stairs.
"It's been like, what, five hours? Why's she going so hard at this?" Jay wondered.
"She's smart. She wants to keep the pressure on." Ana replied with a small shrug, gazing at Trudy. "Thanks, Hun."
She nodded and disappeared back down the stairs.
"All right, so run the names of the angry locals. But don't give up on this robbery angle either." Hank ordered, turning and walking towards his wife while speaking in his version of a low whisper. "We need to talk."
The brunette immediately grew worried and quickly let him inside the Office. The older man closed the door and turned around with a sigh.
"While we were working the scene, two cops from Internal Affairs came and took Al." He explained, softly, not bothering to hide his concern now that he was alone with Ana.
"What?" She asked in disbelief, crossing her arms and beginning to pace around a bit. "Did they say why? I mean, did they give you anything at all?"
"No. They just said they needed to talk with him and he went with." Hank shook his head.
The brunette suddenly stopped dead in her tracks and faced her husband.
"Henry, if something happens to Oli cause I killed Bingham. . ." She trailed off, unable to finish the sentence and brought a hand up to her mouth in horror.
"Hey, whatever it may be, if it even happens, it won't be because you killed that prick." The older man assured, placing his hands on Ana's arms and rubbing them in comfort while she smiled a bit at his choice of colorful word used in regards to their son's killer. "It'll be because Denny Woods can't let go of a childish grudge. And that's on him, not you."
The brunette nodded and leaned forward. Hank immediately wrapped his arms around her and pulled her the rest of the way over, placing his chin on her head. He started rubbing her back in comfort and she sighed in content, resting her against his chest. Ana listened to his strong, steady, heartbeat and tried not to compare it to her racing one that was pounding away with worry for her best male friend.
*Basement/Garage: Tech Office: A Little While Later*
Ana was leaning against the frame of the entrance when Hank walked over, pocketing his phone.
"That was one of my contacts at the Ivory Tower." He explained, quietly. "I asked him to talk to Denny and he tried but he just shut 'em down. Ice cold he said."
