Chapter 12

Theo pov

I don't like air travel.

Why because firstly, I have travelling sickness so I usually eat less before take off, secondly the first non-animated movie which I watched was cast away, thirdly plane food sucks.

We have to reach Italy by 5 in the evening. Mum, Maria, Angelo and me were now getting ready for take-off.

I can see Maria still pissed at the rest of us cause she has not uttered a single word. The only words she speaks are 'hmm's or 'okay's'.

But I know she will be ok because she speaks with Taylor here and there, but still hurts she won't speak with me.

I sit on the couch and go into a deep sleep.

When I open my eyes I see now we are in the air. There are soft mumbles from behind me, so being the complete gentleman that I am, I listen to them.

"I know you are afraid of this Maria but you have nothing to worry about. Everything will be alright." Mum says.

"I don't know, I don't like people having expectations from me." Maria says.

Wow! I don't know how mum got her to talk. I have been trying that for a week buying her chocolates and ice cream. No one just appreciates me anymore.

"Honey they are wonderful people. They will love you. Try giving it a go, you never know what happens."

"You think so?" Maria says as if she is considering it. Good, she will be safe.

"Yea, if you want I can tell you about their family, you will feel more comfortable then."

"Ok."

"So, you are marrying Alessandro Romano, he is 27 years old. He has a younger brother Matteo is 22. Then we have Vincent and Georgia Ramano, their parents."

She is so enthusiastic about this because she knows Maria will never be touched due to the respect of their family.

"Alessandro is a very nice person-"
Nope not at all, he is loyal to the people he loves and a satan to whom he doesn't give a fuck about.

"He is a very generous person-"
Generous if he gets something worth being grateful for.

"He will treat you like his queen-"
Don't call her queen, she is still my princess sis.

"He is very rich so you don't need to worry about work ever again."
Well, Maria cannot live without work and I know Alessandro won't allow her to do that unless there are rules.

"We all love you Maria, and we have made this decision because we want you safe."

"I know that, but I just don't want to accept it. That day when Theo snapped at me I got really scared. He looked exactly like dad." Maria said.

That brought a pang in my chest. Guilt is all I feel, I never meant to raise my voice. I could still see she is afraid to approach me now, for that I cried. She compared me with my father, am I that impatient person?

"Maria, Theo never meant to raise his voice at you, you know that. He was very sorry for that." Mum tried to reason with her.

"At least I have you guys now, but what if he turns out like father? I am treated just like how you were?"

I won't let him hurt her like that. I will make sure of it. I don't want her to blame us if something goes wrong.

I fell asleep again. Yes, I sleep a lot during travelling.

After some time I can feel someone poking me on my arm. After few more times, I open my eyes and see Maria sitting beside me. Immediately I sit properly and hold her hands.

"I am sorry Maria, I never meant to snap at you like that, I know I should have never done that but, I would never do it again, I promise." I ramble out words.

She has a smile on her face. How much I missed that smile in that week.

"I forgive you. You are doing this for a reason, maybe I don't know why yet but I know you will look after me." She says.

"God! You don't know how relieved I am to hear that."

"I am glad." She chuckles.

"And about the whole Lucifer thing-"

"Hey! it's ok. Maybe he was not the one. I don't want me being the reason to break your friendship."

"But-"

"No buts. I am going to give this a go. If you say Alessandro is safe to be around then I believe you." She smiles.

I force a smile. Guilt fills me again. I never said Alessandro is safe, safe for her not for others, he is a cruel person otherwise.

This better goes well.
