I am not perfectly sure how weddings go, so tell me if it is ok.
*******

Maria.

This is it. I am getting married today.

Last week has been busy as hell. With all the preparations and gifts and oh, don't let me forget my bachelorette party.

Chris and Jo both had arranged for me, and I was drunk as a pirate at the end of it. We had fun, we went to the strip club where I got a lap dance from a girl. Fuck that was hot.

Did I ever mention I was bisexual? Well, I am.

Jo did pole dancing. She was smashing at it, I wish I had that confidence to strip like that one day.

Right now Jo is doing my hair and makeup. Georgia said there would be a stylist to do my hair but to be honest, I wanted to bond with Jo more cause after the wedding, she will be going back to California. She was my maid of honour so she was already ready. I think I am starting to have cold feet.

"I cannot do this Jo." I said.

"We talked about this yesterday Maria, it's just cold feet. And I know you will be happy here." She says while doing last minute touchup with my hair.

"But I am only 21!" Ok, now I am freaking out.

"It will be ok. You can always call me if you need anything." She said.

"Ok but I don't know anyone here."

"Then socialise." She lets out a sigh.

Yeah, that's going to be very helpful. My socialising skills are like my inner thigh gap.

Non-existing.

Finally my hair and makeup were done and then I wore my dress. It was beautiful, I don't think I have ever seen myself like this.

The dress went beautifully with my hair. As I ran my fingers through the skirt, I could feel the delicate lace embedded in it. There was sparkle with it which made it more emphasising. The skirt had many layers to it, making it look more luxurious. The beads were perfectly placed on the flowers and the buds which were very fine. It was backless but not reviling. The off-shoulder lace was made of delicate fabric and had a few beading on them.

"God, don't you look gorgeous."

I turned to see Angelo who had tears in his eyes.

"Thank you." I said politely.

"Well, I just came here to tell you that I am proud of you. I know I was not considered as a family for many years but I was close with your mum and considered you like my daughter." He said while holding my hands which comforted me.

"I hope you have a great life ahead and whatever comes in your path you will not get scared and keep your head held high."

God this is making me cry because no one other than Theo in this family had given me a sense of being cared for like this. Motherly love is different, you can't compare to that. But I knew one thing, Angelo was not only my uncle but someone else. I just need him to confess it.

I don't know what happened in past but hey, a girl can guess. So this is me taking a risk.

"I don't know what to say Angelo, but thank you. And I have one request from you." I said wiping my tears, we don't wanna ruin my makeup now do we?

"Of course, what is it?" He said with a smile.

"Walk me down the aisle?" I asked nervously.

"W-What?" He was taken aback. I don't blame him.

"I know my father is not here to do that, and I don't wish for him to be either but you are the next closest person."

"I was absent most of your life, Theo would want to do that." There was happiness in his eyes but he was reluctant to the idea.

"But I am asking you." I tried not to break down.

"It will be an honour for me to do so." He said with the biggest smile.

Don't cry, Maria.

"Come on, we are going to start now." Jo said.

"Are you ready?" Angelo asked.

"Yes." He nodded.

The music started, Jo and Matteo were pared. Me and Alesso both didn't have many people to put as bridesmaids or groomsmen so it was just Jo, Matteo and Chris.

They walked down the aisle and now it was my turn.

One hand holding a bouquet and the other was holding Angelo's arm I started walking. Everyone was looking at me. The wedding is being held in the woods, a place owned by Alesso. It had a big cabin near it, so that was where our reception was going to be held.

The skylight in the evening looked beautiful. The fairy lights which were hanging from the trees looked glamorous. Then my eyes went in front of me where Alesso stood. Then it hit me again.

I am getting married.

I will not be single. Not that it mattered.

I will be Mrs Romano.

I will be living in Italy.

I won't be seeing my family and friends as much I used to.

But I will be ok.

I will get to start over again.

We came to the end of the aisle. Angelo turned to me, kissing me on the cheek. I held him long for a hug.

"Thank you." I said.

He looked confused.

"I know you are my biological father." I said with a smile. He was shocked but didn't deny the fact.

I gave the bouquet to Jo and Alesso took my hand and walked me to the priest.

I looked back at Angelo and mum who had tears in their eyes. They knew I knew, and I was not bothered by it. I smiled at them and they returned a soft one.

I turned to Alesso who was looking at me with a smile. I was lost admiring him to listen to what the priest was saying. His brown hair was neatly combed, his suit was making him look more intimidating.

We said our vows and put a ring on each other's fingers.

"Do you, Maria Reed take Alessandro Vincent Romano to be your husband?" The priest said.

"I do."

"Do you, Alessandro Vincent Romano, take Maria Reed to be your wife?"

"I do."

Fuck this is it. Now no turning back.

"So with this, I pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride."

Alesso slips one hand around my waist and one holding my face, he kisses me softly. I hear the people clap, bringing me back to reality and he pulls away smiling.

"Hello, Mrs Romano." He says.

"Hi." Is all I can say. A blush creeps on my cheeks.

He chuckles and holds my hand guiding me back inside.

*************
