No perspective.

"Because we have met before when you were eight Maria, thirteen years ago."

Words registered in her mind slowly as she kept looking at him dumbfounded. He looked at their held hands, struggling to think the next words to say.

"What do you mean thirteen years ago? I have never- I would have remembered you- its-" Maris said as she frantically ran her hand through her hair.

"You were too young to recollect, we all were."

"All? Who all were there?" She asked hurriedly. Alesso glimpsed at her worried, she had already been in an accident and had found out about his true life, he didn't want her to be more stressed than she already was.

"Tell me!" Maria said it like it was her last straw.

"We all were. Me, you, your family, my family and Angelo." He confessed to her making Maria's lips part in shock.

"All were there? How? Tell me everything." She asked showing a bit of curiosity as she folded her legs and sat up straight.

"Are you sur-"

"Yes Alesso, no holding back. Please tell me everything, all truth." She pleaded and he kept looking at her, debating whether to tell her or not but he will have to, one day or another. Nodding he shifted on the bed closer to her, he was worried about her reaction, scared if she would leave him but he hoped that worse doesn't happen.
_____________

Eight-year-old Maria got out of the car with a bright smile on her face, holding her mother's hand as they walked to the big mansion. It was like a bit castle for her and was amazed by its size. On the other hand, Theo, Nora and their father Michael were annoyed due to Maria's constant talking about Christmas.

"Mum, why are we here? Did uncle Angelo buy a new house?" She asked looking up at her mother who chuckled under her breath. They always have Angelo come over during Christmas but this year things were a bit, different.

"No Maria, this is not Angelo's house. The person Angelo works for has invited us, his name is Vincent Romano, also his best friend. Make sure you behave yourself, he is a very strict man." Her mother said pointedly and Maria nodded her head.

She had no problem where she celebrated Christmas as long she had a tree, lights and gifts, and uncle Angelo had the best gifts. But moreover, she was excited to meet him because she genuinely felt close to him than her father. Angelo was always easygoing and not formal whereas Michael would care less by her presence.

The doors opened to the mansion and Maria's smile grew when she saw Angelo standing there and without waiting she let go of her mother's hand and ran to him.

"Uncle Angelo! Merry Christmas!" She said cheerfully with a smile beaming on her face.

Angelo kneeled and hugged her in mid-air, holding her in his arms.

"Merry Christmas, principessa!" He let out a chuckle and kissed her forehead. His heart ached to hold her close to him every day, to call her his daughter but that was not possible, not now. Maria's mother had tears in her eyes at the sight, it pained her she can't tell the truth to her daughter but pushed the emotions back and put a smile on her face.
