Chapter 21

Naruto was intently staring at the other end of the bridge, from where Orochimaru was supposed to come.

And man did he make an entry.

Orochimaru rushed at Sasori(Yamato) at full speed, almost destroying his puppet, but he and Kabuto dodged it in an instance.

"Looks like I was followed after all," said Kabuto, trying to gain Sasori's trust.

"Then let's deal with him," said Sasori.

'Naruto told me not to trust this guy. If Orochimaru followed him, then he is on his side,' thought Sasori as he looked between Kabuto and Orochimaru discretely.

'What should I do? Should I try to take Orochimaru down with Kabuto? But he'll figure out I'm not Sasori by my fighting style. The only option is to call them. Naruto did say that on the subtlest sign of trouble, he'd intervene,' thought Yamato as he sweats a little.

The next moment, his wood transformation was destroyed by Kabuto as he barely dodged being mortally wounded himself.

"Huh? Sasori sama looks like this?" asked Kabuto confuse.

"No, see the headband Kabuto, he's a leaf scum," said Orochimaru as a few snakes shot out of his hand towards Yamato, who substituted himself with a wood clone.

'Hmm? this is wood release.'

"Could you be..." said Orochimaru with a wicked smile.

"Kabuto, you were supposed to be an Akatsuki spy..." muttered Yamato.

"Oh, Orochimaru sama broke that seal ages ago," said Kabuto with a triumphant smile on his face.

"Did you get caught in Oroch-"

"That's not it. I sympathize with Orochimaru sama's ideals, that's why I am following him out of my own free will," said Kabuto.

"You're the one who survived my experiments," said Orochimaru gleefully.

The next moment a clapping was heard.

Naruto was simply walking towards Orochimaru while clapping.

"Wow Orochimaru, you guessed correctly. Do you want candy for that?" asked Naruto with his own smirk.

"Aah, Naruto kun, how delightful of you to join us. I have been wanting to kill you for a while," said Orochimaru as a few snakes shot out of his hand.

Everyone expected Naruto to dodge.

Or at least put up a barrier.

But he did not.

He continued walking as if nothing happened.

And the next thing shocked everyone.

Orochimaru's attack phased through him.

"WHAT! How is that possible?" asked Orochimaru in disbelief.

"Well, since you're so obsessed with Sharingan, I guess I'll tell you," said Naruto who walked towards Orochimaru with his hands in his pocket as if Orochimaru wasn't a sannin but a kid.

"I have been trying to replicate properties or the Sharingan. You see, 16 years ago, on my birthday, a ninja put Kyubi under a genjutsu. The same Uchiha could also phase through things. I was intrigued, and so I made a seal to replicate that exact property. You know, being an Uzumaki has its perks," said Naruto nonchalantly as Orochimaru snarled.

In reality, Naruto wasn't at that big of an advantage. He had to constantly switch phasing on and off, and it caused disorientation. However, right now, he just wanted to rile up Orochimaru.
