When Wood sounds the whistle that marks the starting moment of the tryouts, I we all set off with out brooms. I immediately look for the Quaffle, and with the tail of my eye I can see Harry and Draco already fighting to have the Snitch's attention. I notice the Quaffle taken by the Slytherin team. I force myself to fly near Montague and not Harry, because I know I'm a Slytherin and I need to make my team win.

I try to arrive at the Quaffle and gesture for Montague to pass it to me so I can score into the hoops, but he doesn't seem to notice me. I get fast and I arrive near the middle hoop, the harder one to get, before Montague, but the Gryffindor's Keeper, who I recognise as Ron, immediately laughs at me and doesn't even try to be in my way. I can imagine Hermione and Ginny's annoyed expressions and I smile.

"Montague!" I call. He turns and looks at me, but a Gryffindor Chaser grabs the Quaffle and flies away. I stare at Montague but don't waste my time and follow the Gryffindor Chaser. He seems surprised that I'm following him and loses his grab on the Quaffle for a second, but that's enough for me to take it and fly as fast as I can.

I arrive in front of the Gryffindor's hoops again, and while Ron is distracted, I throw the Quaffle and score in the middle hoop. Every Slytherin member triumph but we all immediately return to the game.

I look for Harry again and see both him and Draco are very close to the Snitch. I'm about to look around to see where Fred and George, the Gryffindor's Beaters, are, to avoid getting hit by a Bludger, but a Bludger arrives and hits me anyway, and not from them.

Suddenly, I can't feel my stomach anymore, and everything I see is the sky over me, my broom standing up there, and players around me in the camp.

I hit the short grass with my back and my head bounces slightly. I hear and see everything muffled, tears are arising from my eyes because the only sensation I feel clearly is the excruciating pain in my stomach, which seems to have become an enormous hole sucking in my body, and my back and head, which I think are broken but know can't be or else I would be dead.

I close my eyes and start to gaze away, feeling tired just fighting to stay awake and alive. Muffled sounds grow around me and I try to lift my head to see what's happening in the game but I cry out loud, feeling overwhelmed by the pain. I'm not used to physical pain this violent.

I finally am starting to understand what people are saying and suddenly faces appear over me.

"Olivia! Are you okay? Oh my God-" Hermione seems the most concerned and scared I've ever seen her, and she's even crying. "Who was it?" Ginny asks coldly, looking at her brothers, but they deny. "We would never do something to her" George says kindly, trying to calm her. "Who was it then?" Wood asks. I can't believe they're all getting worked up over me.

Flint arrives, followed by Draco with an apple in his hand, Pansy, Blaise and some other members. "Look who's fallen." "Flint. I thought we had agreed to be correct." "I didn't. But anyway, it wasn't me or some of my players."

I open my eyes, seeing Harry bended near me and holding my hand. I hadn't felt it. He's looking at me.

"Via, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked you to play, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he keeps saying, and I manage to smile slightly. "It's not your fault."

"We need to find out who was it though" Harry says, resolutely. "Nobody can hurt her this way and make it through." "You're right" Draco says, eating a bite of his green apple. "I can't believe what I'm saying, but Potter is right." "Malfoy, stop, ugh. You and your fellow idiots did many things like this to innocent players before and you never were sorry" Ron scoffs. "He's right" Blaise says. Draco raises an eyebrow. "I don't care. About her, I mean. I just want to know who did it." "And compliment them maybe" Harry mutters. "Stay away from her Malfoy." "You know Black is a Slytherin right? Why would we hurt her?" "Maybe because she's with us?" Hermione says. "She's not with you. Her House is the same as mine and that will never change." "Her heart is like mine, though" Harry says. "I don't want you to have any kind of business with her. " "Nobody cares what you want" Draco snaps.

"I do" I sigh weakly. I cough. "But now, can I please be brought to the Infirmary?" "Harry, bring her" Wood orders, but I know Harry would have had anyway. "Flint, you and your players, go away. You're not welcome here." "Where are we ever" I can hear Draco whisper, before they leave.

After two nights spent in absolute pain and two days where I missed the pain for how bored I was, Madam Pomfrey lets my friends visit me.

Hermione brings me all the schoolwork I'm missing, Ron gives me some chocolates he bought at Hogsmeade, and Harry places some colourful and delicate flowers on my night table.

I beam at them, ignoring the pang I feel when I do so. I'm full of bandages and I don't feel pretty at all but my friends don't seem to care. "How you doin'?" Ron asks. Then, without letting me answer, "I'm so sorry for what I said before the tryouts" he lets out. I raise an eyebrow. "You feel guilty for a bet? Who's the weak one now?" Hermione giggles.

"How did the real game go?" I ask then. They all exchange looks. "They didn't do it anymore. We all felt like something unfair had just happened" Hermione explains. I sigh. "But hey, you were taken! You're the new Slytherin Chaser together with Montague. And I am the new Keeper!" Ron says proudly. I didn't remember he was trying out too but I smile at him. "So Flint chose me huh?" "He felt forced to, I bet. Because I fell." "You didn't fall. You were hit. By a Bludger." Harry frowns at me. "Fred and George didn't do it, so that leaves Derrick and Bole." I shake my head. "Pansy Parkinson was holding the bat rather than Derrick. She said she wasn't really trying out though, so maybe she was just playing around." Hermione is thinking, and Ron is eating one of my chocolates. "Madam Pomfrey said I could quit this place at the end of the week" I announce. They all smile gladly, but stop when they see my face.
