I'm not your heir

When I wake up, all the memories of yesterday night rush through me in a horrible, quick rain of pain. I wrinkle my nose, open my eyes, and find myself in Draco's arms. I've never even seen my room since I came here, and I won't, since tonight I'm going to go home. I'm gonna miss Draco and even this place, but I can't wait to come back home and see Dad. And maybe, even Harry.

I yawn and turn to look at Draco's face, his eyes closed, his breath regular. He looks so peaceful, as if every nightmare he faces during the day went away. I smile, kissing delicately his nose, and tracing his face's lines with my fingers. His skin in clear and light, and his hair reflect the sun's rays. He looks just like a dream, or an angel. My angel.

With the conscience I have now, I realise I was a fool believing it was my fault. It can't be my fault if a disgusting man like Rodolphus tries to touch me against my will.

My thoughts are interrupted by Draco shifting slightly in the bed, but never letting me go.

"'Morning babe" he says, his voice slurred. My heart jumps as every time he calls me with nicknames. "Good morning Draco" I smile at him when he opens his icy irises. He smiles back and my stomach gets full of butterflies: his smiles are rare but not with me.

"Is it okay if we spend time with our moms today?" I ask, looking up at him. "I think it would be nice for both of us." Draco nods. "Of course. Whatever you want, my love." I can't believe I used to think this teddy bear was a bad person.

"So we can... cook sweeties!" I exclaim, enthusiastic. Then I look at him, anxious. What if I'm exaggerating now?

"You know, we have house elves for that" he chuckles "but yes, we can. I'm a great chef actually." "Have you ever held, I don't know, a pan?" I ask. He grins. "Nope."

To my surprise, Mom really wanted to help us cook Christmas sweeties, and Narcissa just couldn't wait to spend time with her son.

"I always prepare Christmas treats" I'm telling Draco, Mom and Narcissa. "It's a tradition at Grimmauld Place." "Sounds disgustingly sweet" Mom snorts, and Draco laughs. I smile. "Maybe, but it definitely is a disgustingly sweet Christmas tradition."

"So how do we start?" I decided to teach them how to cook chocolate biscuits, so I gesture at the ingredients. "First, we need to check the doses and weight of everything."

After everything lays on the table, Draco places his hands on my waist and his head on my shoulder. "Show me" he whispers in my ear, making my cheeks blush at once and our moms snickering.

"We have... We have to put flour and eggs in this bowl... Draco please stop, you're distracting me" I murmur at him. He smirks. "So I am distracting to you?" "I believe I am to you too" I give him a half smile, knowing he wants to show me I'm not in command. He clenches his jaw, licking his lips.

I roll my eyes, still beaming at him. "Let's continue" I say.

For lunch, we take a break from cooking sweeties and quickly eat some random snack since the great dinner we're having tonight. Then, we go on. In the meantime, I manage to stop Draco from fucking me on the kitchen table, converse with out mothers, and ask them where Lucius and Rodolphus are.

"They have things to do" Mom murmurs quickly, avoiding my eyes. I know something's up and Draco does too, I can feel it from his hand in mine, but we just let it go for now.

When there are two hours left to dinner, the guests, if I want to say so, start to arrive. I politely greet every single person I've known for my whole childhood, but secretly try to stay away from them. First, Dad hates them all. Second, I'm not so keen on being friendly with these people. They scare me.

We sit for a while at the living hall long table, and the adults start to look at me with interest.

"You've grown up quite a lot since last year" Alecto notices. I shrug. "I guess." "And you're with our little prince now" Fenrir gestures at my hand and Draco's twined. "The prince and the princess. The two heirs" Amicurs mutters. Draco scoffs silently.

"I'm not your heir" I lift up my chin. "You're a Slytherin, aren't you?" "I am, but I'm also friends with Harry Potter and many half bloods at Hogwarts." I don't know why I said that, but everyone's reaction is immediate. Disgust sounds grow out loud in the room and Draco clenches his teeth.

"Should have seen that coming." "Grown up with a Gryffindor!" "I can't believe the Lestranges let her..."

I shift on my chair, looking at my mother, searching her support. She snorts. "As if she would have been different growing up here."

I think carefully about what she just said. What if it was Draco being my childhood friend and not Harry? Would this all have been different? Would I have chosen Harry over Draco? Mom over Dad?

I shake my head slightly. This was meant to happen.

"What's the noise about?" Rodolphus and Lucius enter the room. Lucius exchanges looks with Narcissa and she nods silently, mouthing something at Mom, Alecto, Amicus and Feinrir.

I shiver on my head and Draco puts his arm around me, trying to warm me up. Little does he know what my feelings are about. Or does he? Is he involved?

I shake my head again. Can't be.

"Now that we're all ready-" "My dad is missing" I interrupt Lucius. He rolls his eyes. "You invited Sirius Black?" Yaxley asks. I nod, proud.

"Isn't it wonderful" Mom says. "Like a big happy family." Narcissa sighs, smiling at me.

"It's gonna be bad isn't it" Draco murmurs in my ear. I nod, smiling at the others.

"Oh yes."
