I can't believe the first half of the year is almost passed, and we're facing Christmas in three days. Today is the last day of school before the holidays, which I can't wait for. Except Draco and everything else, I really need to get away from school a bit, even if this school is Hogwarts.
"Everyone, please sit down a moment. I need to talk to you all" Professor McGonagall tells us just before half of us runs out the classroom. We all exchange looks and I gesture for Draco to sit, to save him from getting scolded.
"I know this is the last lesson before Christmas holidays, and I understand you are impatient to go home or relax here. Nevertheless, there have been some rumours..." she nervously looks at Harry from her thin glasses. "Some Aurors swear they're sure the Dark Lord may have given signs He's alive and well."
Silence falls inside the room, after many gasp. My heart's beat gets faster and I force myself not to ask all the questions and say all the things I have in my head.
Hermione and Ron are looking at Harry and seem worried, and I am too. If He is alive for real, Harry is in great danger. As every Muggle born, or Halfblood. As everyone.
"I get you're shocked and upset-" "When was the last time someone heard from Him being alove and well?" Neville raises his hand and asks. McGonagall sighs. "Fourteen years ago." "When he killed my parents" I hear Harry muttering, and many of us turn to look at him.
"I didn't tell you this to bring panic through you. The Ministry of Magic doesn't want Hogwarts to tell students about the Dark Lord. However, the Principal, Professor Snape and I have agreed you must be aware of what's happening. I won't tolerate any of you who tells any Fourth year or younger. You are old enough, though, to know it."
"Professor... These are just rumours, though, aren't they?" Hannah Abbott asks, with a scared look on her pale face. "Yes, Mrs Abbott. There are no actual proofs of what I've just told you about."
She waits a few seconds to make sure there aren't any questions left, then smiles. "I wish you all a merry Christmas. Don't worry too much about this. Just think about having fun."
We all leave the classroom with a much smaller enthusiasm than we would have minutes ago.
I suddenly realise I haven't seen Draco exiting the class, and he isn't any close to me. I see Harry and his friends and, despite what I told Daphne, I run after them.
"Olivia" Hermione greets me with a great smile. "Hey guys." "What are you going to do on holidays?" she asks, politely. I shrug. "I'll go at Draco's for a few, then, on Christmas I'll go home."
"You and him seem serious, huh?" Ron asks, elbowing Harry. He stares at me.
"I guess" I smile. "What are you gonna do instead?" "I'll go home" Hermione seems so happy about it I can't help but feel fulfilled. "Harry will go home too, but then he and I will move at Ron's in the last days." "Oh, yes, do you want to come too?" Ron asks, passing a hand through his red hair.
Three days at Draco's, four with Harry and a week with his friends? Sounds just great, exactly the right number each, I think ironically.
"Yes, it'd be great, thanks" I answer. "Now, let's go eat."
Since it's the last day and many went home before lunch, as every year Dumbledore is letting people switch House table, and I'm now sitting at the Gryffindor one.
"Where's Draco, anyway?" Hermione asks nonchalantly. I shrug. "I don't know. He's been gone ever since the last lesson." "Mh."
"I'm sure Snape has something to do with Voldemort's rising" Harry says, after we've started eating. I drink a sip of water and raise an eyebrow at him. "Just like he had with the Philosopher's stone huh? And the Chamber of Secrets. And-" "I get it, but now I'm sure of it. Just like I'm sure Malfoy knows something more than the rest of us."
I look at him inn bewilderment. "He's not his family." "Says you." "She knows him well." Hermione agrees with me. "Yeah, well, I thought I knew her well too. And look at us now" Harry snaps.
Hermione puts down her fork, and Ron stares at him.
"You know what, forget it." Harry stands up and stomps out the dining hall. I'm left exchanging looks with Hermione and Ron, but then grow tired of it. "I'm sorry" I murmur, standing up as well and going out.
I run to the Astronomy Tower, both because it's become my favourite place and I hope to find Draco there. When I see his figure there, I smile unconsciously and walk up to him.
"Draco, I've been looking for you" I say. He turns to look at me. "I'm sorry. I just needed to clear my thoughts." "Are you sure of me coming home tonight?" I ask, nervous. He nods, holding my hands between our bodies. "Of course. I'll need you there." "I will too" I chuckle. "Oh, don't be afraid of my parents, they're only bad with me." The sour smile he tells me this with breaks my heart a little; it's like he's resigned.
"Well, everything is going to be okay there. Don't worry. I'm there for you." "Have I told you how much precious you are?" he puts his hands on my waist, and I put my lips onto his. "Actually, you have" I smile against his mouth. "Well, I'll say it again then. You're precious" he kisses me slowly, our tongues intertwining together as our souls.
