I cannot lose you.

After passing my OWLs with Outstanding in everything except Potions where I got Exceed Expectations, I start to spend my time only with Draco, Daphne and Luna.

Until one day in May Hermione approaches me, and it's only because I force myself that I don't leave her there. I put on my Slytherin smile and say, "What do you want?"

She smiles at me, but her chin trembles. "I didn't imagine Harry was capable of such a thing." I listen to her. "He'd told us you had stopped talking to him with no reason, and he was the sad one. I actually believe him when he says he was hurt but it wasn't your fault it was his only his."

I look at her. "Why didn't you talk to me earlier?" I ask. She bowes head, and when she looks back at me again, I'm awestruck by seeing tears in her warm eyes. "I didn't know who to side with" she confesses. "I know it's always the boy's fault in these cases, but I didn't know what- I've never, Ron and I have never left his side ever since we met each other."

I would love to say that I pull up an angry face, but all I can do is smiling. "I know, Hermione, don't worry. I'm not mad at you or Ron or anyone, not anymore. I've been angry for too long." I pause. "I am actually glad he had someone to look after him all these years."

Draco isn't exactly happy about my reconciliation with Harry's friends, and he is everything but happy when, for the second time today, another person grabs my arm, trying to talk to me. I'm not surprised to see it's Harry, but I'm not ready for him, either.

"Olivia" he urges, ignoring Draco by my side. "I-" "Shut up" Draco glares at him "she doesn't want you here." "I don't care, I don't care, this is... It's Sirius, Olivia, he's in danger. I saw it."

I've always felt scared about Harry's visions because they're linked to Voldemort. But when he says Dad's name, to say I'm scared would be an euphemism.

"What do you mean?" Draco asks calmly, to let me take my breath. "He's in the Ministry of Magic, they're torturing him, they want a prophecy, my prophecy, and they're using him to get me there I think" Harry spurts out. "So you want to actually get there obviously" Draco says. "Because you were never a Ravenclaw." "I cannot leave him there" Harry says fiercely "He's all I've left."

The last sentence breaks me a little but I pretend to nod seriously. "Harry's right. We need to go save him." "Save him?" Draco raises his eyebrows. "Save him? A bunch of teenagers against the most powerful wizard of all time? Right" he says "we have another Ravenclaw here I see."

"I'm going" Harry says. "I'm coming with you." "No" Draco forces me to stay still "I'm not letting you be in danger. I cannot lose you." I look at him. "I cannot lose my father, Draco."

Harry and I start to run, and Draco, after a few moments of doubt, follows us. I can't stop to tell him, but my heart is so terrified of him getting hurt and at the same time so glad he's coming with me.

When we exit the Castle, everyone seems to think that we're just enjoying a good day out in Hogsmeade. Draco, Harry and I find Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Daphne and Neville waiting for us. "I knew she would have come" Daphne grins at me and I smile at her, but I bite my tongue not to cry.

Dad has given me all I've ever needed and wanted. I cannot afford to lose him. Not now, not ever.

"They're holding him in the Mistery Hall, in the Ministry of Magic" Harry explains us, while we all call our brooms. I'm about to Accio mine, but Draco gently puts a hand on mine, and whispers, "You come with me." He seems, as usual, to understand better than anyone what's going on in my mind: I'm utterly terrified of losing Dad, and losing him, and I'm not sure I could fly well in these conditions.

When, after a harsh flying, we arrive to the Mistery Hall, we find, rather than Dad, Draco's father, Lucius. He's wearing a black hat, and a dark mask covers his face. I don't seem to register the fact that Harry is holding a clear ball in his hand, a prophecy they say. I don't realise that there are many more adults than Lucius himself, all wearing the same clothes, the same masks. I don't realise every adult here, Lucius included, is ready to kill us all in order to have that prophecy.

All I get is, Dad is not here. He's safe. And we're not. Voldemort must have played with Harry's thoughts once again.

"We must run" Hermione whispers. "At three" Harry adds.

"One" I hold my wand with one hand and Draco's hand with the other.

"Two" I look at Draco, asking him silently to follow me rather than his father.

"Three!" We all start running in the same direction, shouting "Reducto!" at the Death Eaters in front of us.

Until I slip. And I lose consciousness.

DRACO'S POV

As soon as I see Olivia falling, I don't even have to turn to catch her. I lift her up, carrying her. I can't see any of the students who were with us, but only other familiar faces: Macnair, Avery, Bella... my father.

I ignore the feeling in my chest, the void in my heart I always get whenever I see my father, and I grip my teeth. Fuck to everyone else, right now all I care about is my Via.

I find myself in front of a black door, and Granger arrives, with Weasley and Potter. "What's happened to her?" Potter asks, his eyes wide. "She fell and hit her head" I only say. A second later, Loony Lovegood, Longbottom and the Weasley girl arrive too. To be truthful, the Weasley girl seems to be hurting on her foot, and Granger, Longbottom and Lovegood have blood on their faces. I have never been more ashamed of my family than now.

"Where's Daphne?" I remember to ask suddenly, worried. The Weasley girl looks at me, as though I was responsible for her. "I thought you-" she starts to say, but then an arm grabs mine, almost making me drop Via. I turn, terrified, but it's Daphne. She looks a bit ruffled up and she's breathing hard for running here, but she seems okay. She gives me a glance because I'm holding Via, but there's no time to linger. Granger opens the door in front of us and jumps.

I don't know what to do with Olivia, so I wake her up a bit briskly. "You have to jump" I say.

She looks at me, surprised. "What-" "Jump!" I tell her again, pushing her in the black hole under us. Then I jump behind her.
