Ever since I've come back to the normal life, I've realised that it isn't like what I expected at all. I know Draco can't be seen with me because it would be too difficult and complex to explain, but he's ignoring me.
I don't know. With him, everything is just so hard.

He tells me to talk to him, then ignores me. He is jealous of Harry, then flirts with Pansy all the time. Honestly? I can't even say I'm tired of him because, and I hate it, it's like I feel attracted to him, as a magnet. His being so distant, cold, bitchy with everyone, me too, just makes me think he's got a mask to hide his real self. The only people he talks to are Blaise and Pansy, who never loses a chance to flirt with him. I didn't think he could be like that, but it really seems like he does this just to annoy me and put me off about hi.

Even my friends have noticed that something's off in our relationship, whatever it is.
The only positive aspect of this whole thing is that I've started to talk to more people, like Astoria, Daphne's little and smart sister, and Neville and Luna, Ginny's friends. But the more I feel accepted here at Hogwarts, the less I know Draco is.

I'm now looking at the invite that's laying, opened, on my desk. I see most people in the class are talking about the party Draco's decided to give at Halloween. He didn't even give it to me directly, and Blaise was the one who handed it to me smiling slightly.

When I see that Harry and his Gryffindor friends didn't receive it, even though they don't seem surprised about it, something inside me breaks and I stand up abruptly, ignoring everyone's glances. I grab Draco's arm and I gesture for him to follow me outside class for a few minutes until the Professor Vicious arrives.

"What?" he says. "Are you 6 years old? Inviting everyone to your elite party except the Gryffindors?" I stare at him. He shrugs. "This isn't a war. You're not in Primary School. And Harry isn't your mortal enemy." "That you say" he replies "because obviously you see his point of view." "It's a bit hard to see yours if everything you do is ignoring me." "Potter did too in the beginning and I don't think you hated him for this." "First, maybe I was wrong. Second, I don't hate you! But it seems like you do."

He looks at me carefully. "Whatever. I won't invite your small sweet friends to my party. You're free not to come."
"I won't" I promise, before stomping in the class just a few seconds before the Professor, who invites Draco to enter too.

After the lessons, I'm walking in the park with Hermione and Ginny. "I swear. If he doesn't let you all come, I won't either." "You're sweet" Hermione beams "but you should go. Who cares what party Malloy throws." Ginny nods. "I would have loved to be there though!" she sighs. I frown. "What if I told Dumbledore? He probably would say I'm right. A student shouldn't exclude others." "I don't know. It seems like a pretty serious thing to do just for a stupid party" Hermione murmurs.
"It's not about the party! It's because he can't always do whatever he wants and get away with it." "I agree with her" Ginny says "but know that Malfoy will probably know it was you." "Let him" I say, gripping my teeth. "I'm not scared of him."

"You shouldn't be" Hermione adds "also because I don't see him hurting you" she grins. I sigh. "Tell that to the 'ignoring and flirting with Pansy' part" I mutter. Then I shrug. "Who wants to come with me?" I change topic. Harry arrives right in this moment.

"Come with you where" he asks, handing Hermione a piece of paper. "Thanks for the essay" he smiles at her. "In the Dumbledore's office to force Malfoy to invite the Gryffindors too" I answer, looking fiercely in his irises. "Oh look, Via took after daddy" he jokes, and I laugh. "Well. Do you wanna come?" He nods. "Absolutely."

"Harry coming would mean definitely getting what you want" Ginny says. "She's right. Harry is Dumbledore's favourite pupil ever" Hermione adds, and I smile. "Oh really. I didn't expect it at all" I say. He elbows me. "What can I say, it must be the charm" he smirks. "Ha ha. Tell that to Cho Chang" Hermione says. Harry becomes bright red.

"Er" he says, clearly embarrassed. "Who's that?" I ask. "You never told me about her!" I accuse him. Ginny laughs. "Obviously. She's a Ravenclaw who Harry liked for a whole year before asking her out and then, during Valentines, getting dumped in Hogsmeade."

"Oh oh. You male ego has to be completely destroyed." "Well, there's always Romilda Vane" Hermione snickers. I chuckle too, remembering what Romilda told me one of my first days here. Then I remember Draco.

"Let's go" I say suddenly. "I can't wait any longer" I explain. Harry nods, relieved he isn't the object of our conversation anymore. "See you later" Ginny says. Hermione waves at us and then we walk inside the castle.

"Are you sure about this" I ask while we're going to the Principal's office. He frowns. "Weren't you the one who asked me to come" he says. I nod. "I know. It's just... I'm afraid this will mean the end of everything between me and Draco." "I think it ended when he decided to deliberately ignore you and flirt with that Parkinson." I'm glad he's defending me but he's got a weird tone.

"Are you okay?" I look at him. He nods. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?" It probably just was an impression, and whatever thought of him I have in mind immediately disappears when we find ourselves in front of the high stairs. "Thank you. I wouldn't have known where to go without you" I say. "Lemon sherbet" Harry just says, and the stairs start to climb down and arrive to us.

"Are you ready?" he asks. "I was born ready" I say, nervously. He strokes my head with his fist, jokingly. "Come on" he murmurs, and we climb up the stairs.

And just like that, Dumbledore's door opens for us.
