"About time!" I said.

"Please have a seat,"  the hot dude said.

I sat down on one of high backed chairs. It was pretty comfortable.

"Florentyna, I'm sure you have many questions regarding us and everything else that has being going on," Freya spoke up.

No Sherlock, of course not!

"You're right. 100/100!" I replied, gritting my teeth.

Freya smiled.

How can these people be so kind?

"Well, I am Freya and," she gestures to the hot dude, "this is my brother Ferdinand."

"Okay. So?"

"Do you remember what happened on the hillside?"

"Was it real?" I asked, curious.

"Of course it was," the hot dude— I mean Ferdinand said, nonchalantly.

"How?"

The blondie perked up, wanting to interfere into our mini-conference but said nothing.

Freya explained, "Nova was fighting that demon for a long time. He was almost on the verge of terrorizing the Palenthians. He had to be stopped. You did it."

"How did I do it?"

Ferdinand chuckled. "I thought you could enlighten us there."

I shake my head. "I don't know. Whatever are Palenthians, anyway?"

"Palenthians are the total opposite of what we are," Freya said.

"And what are you?" I asked, a bit flustered this time.

"We are the Valen or as some of us say, Valenthian," Ferdinand spoke, almost as if talking about the American War Of Independence.

I sighed. "Did I screw up at the hillside?"

"Not at all. You killed a demon. By your lone self."

"Right. How?"

"Fire," Nova spoke up. She looked excited; her face flushed. "Lady Freya it was fire." She layed an emphasis on the word fire.

"I know that, dear," Freya said. She seemed wary and did not seem to share the excitement of Nova.

"Okay. Just spill the beans. Tell me all about yourself."

Ferdinand said, "When the world was evolving, there were two types of people. Palenthians and the Valens. In other words, normal people and people with super-powers. The Valen has effectively been hidden from the outside world. Few contacts. The Valen lived in their city called Valenthia. The Valen are extraordinary beings. Some call us wizards, witches, sorcerers etcetera, etcetera. But we were just Valens who could do some magic. And not your Palen mumbo-jumbo!" He paused for breath.

I laughed. Literally, I did.

"I am dreaming, am I not? This is not real!"

"Of course it is real. We are real!" Nova sounded offended.

"So who the heck am I?" I stared defiantly at Freya. "I am a normal person. I go to high school. I have parents. What am I ?" I asked.

"That is what we need to find out. Do you trust us enough to stay with us? Help us? You are powerful. You are the only Palenthian, first time in centuries who has magic inside her. Powerful magic. More powerful than most Valen. I can feel it. Stay with us and help us slay monsters. Please."

I gulped. "What will I get for that?"

"Answers." Freya replied immediately as if she knew my weakness.

I reflected back. Yes, there are still many unanswered questions, worries, thoughts. She was right. There was always never a feeling of belonging back home. I usually would shrug it off as a stupid notion. Maybe now is the time to find out.

"Fine."
