Draco looks sad.
I watch him as he's fidgeting with the ring on his finger, bouncing his leg up and down and not once looking up to meet my eyes.
He's quiet today — he's always quiet. He doesn't say anything. He's more silent than he usually is. He doesn't make any jokes, doesn't laugh with Blaise and Theodore. Don't smile. It's almost as if he's numb.
I place my hand on top of his, giving him a small squeeze. He looks up, his eyes meeting mine.
He looks so exhausted — so tired.
"Hey." I take his hand in mine, pressing my lips against his palm.
He forces a weak smile, but it disappears immediately and is replaced with that sad face again. "Hey."
I massage circles with my thumb on his hand, warming him with my skin. He turns his head towards the fireplace. "Draco, my love, are you okay?"
He barely nods, opens his eyes, and gets to his feet.
I know he's hurt. I know that his mark keeps burning every second of the day, and that it's painful for him. He's fighting through it, but he's slowly giving up.
I know that when he's alone in the shower, the water is cold as ice and he scratches his mark. Claws at it, trying to make it go away. It doesn't.
"Where are you going?" I ask him, looking at him as he takes a step and then another.
"I'm going to the room of requirement."
He walks away. And I let him.
__________
I walk through the doors into the room of requirement, and immediately look for him.
I see him before I hear him. He's working on the cabinet, doing his best to succeed.
Fighting for us to live. For his family to live. Ours.
His body stills as my footsteps near, and he remains with his back facing my front.
I place the box on the couch table, and walk over to Draco.
"Hello, my love." I press my lips against his shoulder from behind. "How is it going, any improvements?"
He stays quiet for a moment, inhales as I wrap my arms around his body from behind, embracing him. "It's going alright."
"Okay," I simply replied.
He places his hands over mine, and squeezes them. "I missed you."
I press my chin against his back, "I know. I missed you too. I always miss you. That's why I need you with me always and forever."
"I know," he turns around, capturing my face in his hands and he connects our lips.
A low sound falls from my lips as I feel his against mine. A spike of electricity shoots through my body. I smile against his lips, and tightens my arms around his body. "I love you."
He kisses me harder, "I love you too. Always and forever."
The kiss is soft. Like walking on cotton candy. It's sweet like sugar. And it's perfect. But the kiss — it feels so sad.
His lips feel so sad against mine.
I pull away, but he holds me back. Pressing his forehead against mine. "I need you all the time. When I'm alive, when I'm dead. I'll always need you. I love you so much. There's not enough words in this universe that can describe how I feel for you."
I smile, brushing my nose against his. "Let's go rest, Draco. It's time to rest. Come with me to bed."
__________
Draco lays on his side, watching me with sparkles in his eyes.
No. It's not sparkle.
It's that thin layer of water resting over the grey in his eyes. It's those tears I dread.
A tear escapes and runs down his face. It disappears as soon as it escapes.
"Draco?" I ask, brushing my thumb against his cheek. "Draco, why are you crying?"
Another tear rolls down.
I pull him towards me, wrapping my arms tightly and secure around his body. I kiss the top of his head as he lays on my body with his head on my chest.
"Please don't cry. It makes me sad when you cry." I whisper, my fingers running through his hair.
Another tear after another. And he's crying harder.
But he's quiet as he cries, he just lets the tears fall. He doesn't make a sound.
But he's crying. Broken.
A tear escapes the corner of my eyes, and I leave it there.
"I love you, darling. It hurts me when you cry." I whisper into his hair, and I feel his salty tears against my skin.
"I love you so, Draco."
"Never let me go," he says, his voice breaking in half and it sounds as if he's scared.
"Never let me go," he repeats, pressing a salty kiss between my breasts, right on top of my heart. "Promise that you'll never let me go. No matter what happens, you'll always keep me."
"I promise," I say. "Promise, promise. I promise."
I keep him in my arms, and we cry together.
He's so scared. He cries because he's scared to lose me, he cries because he's stressed and exhausted.
"It's okay," I tell him over and over. "I'll never let you go, you're my everything."
"You're my life," he says back, not holding the tears back. "If it weren't for you then I would've been dead long ago. You've always been my life."
"We promised each other always and forever," I rub circles on his back. "Draco you're my life. Without you I'm incomplete. You have my heart,"
We both fall asleep until our tears are dry, we sleep through the night in each other's arms, not once letting go.
Always and forever. Just like promised.

Hi, sorry for taking so long to update nowadays. I'm so busy and stressed with school rn and I barely have any time and energy to write. I will try my best though. But school and my mental health comes first. <3
