"Look at you, Maxie," said Olivia, unable to contain her excitement as she saw her younger sister get ready for the Snow Ball. Max gave her a small smile; Susan was doing her daughter's hair. "Let me put on some makeup," Olivia said, leaning on the restroom wall. Susan smiled, and Max's eyes widened "No."
"Please, just a little eyeshadow you won't even notice."
"Olivia, no," Max said, looking back at her older sister.
Olivia only smiled, "I'll be right back," she said, rushing to her room.
Having her makeup in hand, she walked back to the restroom where Max was; she saw Billy walking to his room. He looked at her and continued walking.
After the incident at the Byers house, Billy stopped bothering Max, and he didn't talk much to Olivia, she was still mad at him for slapping her, and he was mad at her for punching him.
Susan and her father didn't know about this for obvious reasons; the three of them were grounded when they came home earlier the next day.
After Olivia was done applying a little bit of eye shadow to Max, she turned around and saw herself in the mirror. "You look beautiful," said Susan. Max got closer to the mirror, looking at herself. "I'm taking it off as soon as I get home"
"Maxie, but you look gorgeous; every girl is going to be jealous." Max rolled her eyes, "and a special someone won't be able to take his eyes away from you," Olivia whispered to Max. "Not a word Olivia," Max said, pointing at her.
Olivia raised her hands in surrender but smiled brightly at her.
Max had left to the Ball. Billy was going on his third date of the day, and her father and Susan went to a holiday work party, meaning she had the whole house to herself.
She was in her room, laying on the bed trying to fall asleep, but she couldn't.
There was a knock on the door, and Olivia opened her eyes. Maybe she was imagining things but there it was again another knock. She got up from her bed and walked to the front of the house; she heard another knock. She unlocked the door and opened it revealing Steve Harrington.
He was wearing a maroon sweater; Olivia blinked a few times. "What are you doing here, are you insane," she told him, looking outside. She got his hand and pulled him inside her house all the way to her room.
She locked her door "why are you here," she asked Steve, getting a little panicked.
If her dad or Billy saw him here, things won't end well for both of them.
He was sitting on her bed, "I haven't seen you in a few days. I miss you." Olivia couldn't help but smile.
"Where did you park your car?"
"In the same spot. Why" She nodded and started to walk back and forth.
"I'm sorry, Steve, but you can't be here," she told him, stopping in front of him. "Oh," he said, getting up.
"I dropped off Dustin, and my parents are on a business trip. I didn't want to be home alone. I thought I could spend some time with you," he said with his hand on the doorknob.
She didn't want to be alone either, and Steve wasn't bad company. She thought for a second and said, "Wait, you can stay but not too long, okay I don't know what time my dad and Susan are coming back."
"Your home alone too," Steve asked, getting closer to Olivia. "Yes, everyone had plans."
They were both lying on Olivia's bed. "Who would have thought supernatural creatures were hiding in Hawkins," Olivia said, looking at her ceiling. "Not me. Nothing interesting happened in this town until El appeared and Will went missing."
