It wasnt a good day for Olivia. Her father got home, and she got blamed for something she didnt do. He hit her hard across her face leaving a bruise on her cheek.

She was resting on the bed later that day; her father was in his room already sleeping. She couldnt comprehend how he was peacefully sleeping not too far from her room. It seemed he didnt even care; he had no remorse for what he did. She hated him so much like she had never hated anyone before.

"Ollie," she heard a quiet voice coming from her window. She wasnt in the mood to see or talk to Steve. She had hoped if she didnt answer, he would leave, but Steve only continued to call her name and throw rocks at her window.

She got out of her bed and opened the door. Steve was taken back how she didnt even kiss him; she only went back to her bed. "Ollie, are you alright," he asked, getting closer to her. "I dont want to talk, Steve," she said, her back facing him.

She didnt want him to see her like that.

He took off his shoes and sat on her bed. "Whats wrong; did something happen to Max," he asked, not sure what got Olivia in that mood. "No, she's at her friend's house."

He was thinking for a moment "d-did Billy do something to you," he said with concern. "No, can you please stop and leave me alone," she said quietly. "Ollie," Steve said, hurt.

"Please look at me; whats wrong," he said, placing his hand on her shoulder, wanting her to turn around and face him. She sat up straight facing him. There was a bruise on her cheek, and her eye looked a bit swollen.

Seeing her like this, Steves eyes widened "who did this," he questioned, slowly lifting his hand to her face. Olivia closed her eyes and flinched. "Please leave," she told him with tears in her eyes.

"No, I'm not leaving you. What happened was it Billy did he do this to you."

"Just stop asking questions, Steve. I dont want to talk about it," Olivia said, looking down at her hands.

There was so much he wanted to do and ask, but the girl he cared for deeply was in pain. The only thing he thought of doing at that moment was to hug her. He wrapped his arms around her, not wanting to let her go, wanting all her pain to go away.

She softly cried on his shoulder. There were nights she cried alone in her room, not making a sound. But now she wasnt alone; Steve was with her; she felt safe for just a little while.

After Olivia stopped crying they were lying in bed; he was playing with her hair. "Ollie," Steve said quietly, unsure if she was already sleeping. She looked up to him, "It was your father, wasnt it. I can call the cops if you want."

She moved from Steves side abruptly "you cant do that, Steve," she said with fear in her voice. "But hes hurting you, Olivia." Steve was confused why she was reacting this way.

She was shaking her head "promise me, Steve, that you wont call the cops," Olivia said, looking at Steve holding one of his hands.

"Ollie-"

"promise me please," she said desperately.

"They can help you."

She got up from her bed "you dont understand" she started to walk back and forth.

Steve got up from the bed, "Olivia, Im sure there are people you can talk to, and he wont hurt you again."

"You think they will listen to me. Its his word against mine, Steve," she stopped pacing and walked up to him.

"They wont do anything, and it will just make things worse for everyone."

"Olivia, Im sure that-"

"get out," she said, pointing at her window. "Ollie," Steve said, walking closer to her, but she walked away.

"Get out," she said firmly.

He was out the window, but he looked at her for just a little longer. She had her arms crossed on her chest. Looking to the side, not wanting him to see her cry.

He walked away, going to his car. He needed to do something; he couldn't stay silent after finding out what Olivia's father was doing to her.

She was probably going to hate him for this, but in Steves mind, he was doing the right thing, not knowing the big consequences that it would bring to Olivia.
