hi guys this is chapter 11 hope u enjoy

Dear Ruby,

How have you been? I hope you have been doing what I asked you to in my first letter. I am working really hard to help you, but it is not easy. Nevertheless, don’t lose hope. I know you are curious about my identity, but I fear revealing it will be dangerous for both of us. So, bear with me, and when the time is right, I will tell you who I am. I will write again soon!

“Wow,” Meg whistled. “Who do you think it is?”

“You asked that last time,” Ruby pointed out.

“So?” Meg inquired.

“Well, it is a good question,” Charlie remarked.

“Charlie Baker, you stay out of this,” Ruby turned to face him.

“What?” He asked innocently. Thinking that she was just teasing, he added, “I wasn’t the one who secretly left the house and left my friends worried sick.”

“Oh so now I am the bad person? At least I’m not hiding secrets,” she said angrily.

Meg exchanged a worried look with Charlie. “Ruby, calm down.”

“You should be grateful Charlie and I shared our secrets with you. Instead, you keep secrets from me! I wish I never told you any of this,” Ruby exploded. Before she marched out of the room, she added, “and I know how you feel Charlie. Trust me when I say this: my feelings don’t match! Never did, never will!”

Ruby knew exactly where she wanted to go. There was a nearby lake she always used to go to whenever she was mad. It always helped her calm down whenever she threw little pebbles into the water. She sat on a boulder away from all the ducks, and threw the pebbles into the water one by one, watching the ripples as they grew.

“What have I done? I just exploded at Charlie when he didn’t do anything wrong! I also yelled at Meg too, even though she was just trying to help. I am really bad at making friends, and even worse at keeping them! Good job Ruby, you just lost all your friends, and it is all your fault! I can’t even face any of them after what I said,

especially not Charlie. Oh why did you have to go and say that? You are so stupid, Ruby! He probably never liked you in that way you thought he did, and they were talking about something else when I overheard them. I just rushed to a conclusion because it was what I hoped was true. You are so stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid!” Despite her wishes, Ruby burst into tears. All of a sudden, she felt somebody hug her.
