Ruby woke up to the sound of birds chirping. She sat up and stretched her arms, and only then did she realize Meg and Charlie were in the room. They were both sitting on the couch, talking. "Good morning." She told them.
"Oh sorry. Did we wake you up?" Meg asked.
"Oh no you didn't. I didn't even know you guys were awake," Ruby replied.
"Okay good," Charlie said.
"So what were you guys talking about?" Ruby asked.
"We were discussing today. We decided to leave the house after breakfast and go wait for the man there. He didn't tell us what time to meet him," Charlie planned.
"That's true he didn't. So what do we tell your parents?" Ruby asked.
"That the weather is beautiful and we want to go to the park," Meg offered.
"We can ride bikes over," Charlie suggested.
"I don't know how to ride a bike," Ruby admitted.
"Oh. Well, how about you and I go on my motorcycle and Meg follows on my bike?" Charlie asked.
"That works," Ruby said, though she didn't want to tell him she was afraid of motorcycles.
"Anyway, now that you are awake, let's go eat breakfast," Charlie told them.
"What time is it?" Ruby asked.
"8:45," replied Charlie.
"What time did you guys wake up?" Ruby asked.
"At 8," Meg told her. "Come on Charlie. Let's go down while Ruby gets ready. I know you can't wait to start eating!" Charlie made a face, but followed her anyway. Ruby quickly changed and brushed her teeth and her hair. Then, she rushed down the staircase.
"Just in time, Ruby," Mrs. Baker said. "Alright children, we have pancakes, French toast, and eggs. I also made strawberry smoothies. Is that good?"
"Yes. Thank you," The girls replied.
"I don't know," thought Charlie. "I'm kind of in the mood for an omelet, French fries, and a banana smoothie." The girls stared wide-eyed at him. "Just kidding! Thanks mom."
After they finished eating, Meg cleared the table and swept the floor while Ruby did the dishes. Charlie just stood around, watching and telling them to hurry.
