Sam and Dean arguing over Castiel and Bobby and Winter are looking through lore books. Liv's on the phone trying to reach a hunter friend. Bobby says, "You two chuckleheads want to keep arguing religion, or do you want to come take a look at this. I got stacks of lore -- biblical, pre-biblical. Some of it's in damn cuneiform." Winter says, "It all says an angel can snatch a soul from the pit." Dean says, "What else?" Bobby says, "What else, what?" Dean says, "What else could do it?" Bobby says, "Airlift your ass out of the hot box? As far as we can tell, nothing." Sam smiles and says, "Dean, this is good news." Dean says, "How?" Sam says, "Because for once, this isn't just another round of demon crap. I mean, maybe you were saved by the good guys, you know?" Winter says, "Uncle Sam, that's very stereotypical to assume angels are the good guys." Sam furrows his brows and says, "How so?" Winter says, "Not all angels are good, like Lucifer for example." Dean nods his head to Winter and then says, "Okay, say it's true. Say there are angels. Then what? There's a God?" Bobby says, "At this point, Vegas money's on yeah." Dean says, "I don't know, guys." Sam says, "Okay, look. I know you're not all choirboy about this stuff, but this is becoming less and less about faith and more and more about proof." Dean says, "Proof?" Sam says, "Yes." Dean says, "Proof that there's a god out there that actually gives a crap about me personally? I'm sorry, but I'm not buying it." Winter softly says, "Why not?" Dean says, "Because why me? If there is a god out there, why would give a crap about me?!" Sam says, "Dean --" Dean continues, "I mean, I've saved some people, okay? I figured that made up for the stealing and the ditching chicks. But why do I deserve to get saved? I'm just a regular guy." Sam says, "Apparently, you're a regular guy that's important to the man upstairs." Dean says, "Well, that creeps me out. I mean, I don't like getting singled out at birthday parties, much less by... God." Sam says, "Okay, well, too bad, Dean, because I think he wants you to strap on your party hat." Dean clears his throat and says, "All right fine. What do we know about angels?" Bobby brings a stack of books in puts in front of Dean. Bobby says, "Start reading." Dean points at Sam and says, "You're gonna get me some pie." Liv comes into the room and Winter looks up at her mom and says, "Mom, what's wrong?" Liz looks at her dad and says, "Dad, I'm worried about Olivia, it's not like her to be missing all these calls." Her dad nod and says, "Let's go. Pack your stuff." Liz nods and everyone's outside and Sam pulls up and Liz walks over to Sam, "Keep the engine running." Sam says, "Why? What's going on?" Liz sighs and says, "I got a friend one state over -- Olivia Lowry. I've been trying to reach her for three days on this angel thing. It's not like her to ignore this many calls." Sam says, "Olivia Lowry -- a hunter, right?" Liz says, "Yeah. We're gonna go check on her. Just follow my dad." Sam says, "Hey, you riding with us?" Liz says, "Yeah, so scoot over." Sam says, "Yeah." Sam scoots over and Liz sits in the middle and Dean's driving. Winter goes with her grandpa. Sam passes the bag to Dean and Dean looks for pie and says, "Dude?" Sam says, "Yeah?" Dean says, "Where's the pie?" Liz softly laughs at Dean's frowny face. They get to Olivia's place and Liz says, "Olivia?" Liz gasps at Olivia's dead body. Bobby then walks out and Liz walks over to Olivia's body and Winter says, "Mom?" Liz looks around and says, "She salted a line." Winter says, "So? Ghost?" Liz says, "Maybe an angry spirit." Dean says, "I'd say so, she was rocking the EMF meter. A spirit on steroids." Liz says, "I've never seen a ghost do this to a person." Liz looks to her dad and Dean says, "Booby, you all right?" Bobby says, "I called some hunters near by." Dean says, "Good. We can use their help." Bobby says, "Except they ain't answering their phones either." Sam says, "Something's up, huh?" Bobby says, "You think?" Bobby then walks away. They go check two hunters and their both dead and their wondering why ghosts are killing off hunters. Dean and Sam switched places to drive and Dean and Winter are sleeping. Liz's awake wondering why ghosts are killing hunters. Liz goes to check up on Sam and finds the ghost of Agent H. beating up Sam. Liz shoots him and he disappears for now. Dean tries to call Bobby but he's not answering. Liz says, "How you feeling Sam?" Sam says, "I'm fine, Liz." Dean says, "Are you sure you saw Henriksen?" Sam says, "Yep." Dean says, "Why? What did he want?" Sam says, "Revenge 'cause we got him killed." Liz says, "Well, we did, Liz." Dean says, "All right. Stop right there. Whatever the hell is going on, It's happening to us now, okay? I can't get ahold of Bobby, so if you're not thinking answers, don't think at all." They arrive and Liz says, "Dad?" They start looking for him and everyone splits up. Later, in the study and Sam says, "So there all people we know?" Liz says, "Not just know. People we couldn't save." Dean says, "Hey, I saw something on Meg. Did she have a tattoo when she was alive?" Sam says, "I don't think so." Dean says, "It was like a-a mark on her hand -- almost like a brand." Sam says, "I saw a mark, too, on Henriksen." Bobby says, "What did it look like?" Sam says, "Uh, paper? Thanks." Sam draws it and Dean says, "That's it." Liz says, "I think I've seen this before." They hear static and Bobby says, "We got to move." Sam says, "Whoa." Bobby says, "Follow me." Sam says, "Okay. Where are we going?" Bobby says, "Somewhere safe, you idgit." They all go down stairs and Bobby takes them to a safe room. Liz closes the door and locks it. Sam says, "Bobby, is this --" Bobby says, "Solid iron. Completely coated in salt." Liz says, "It's 100% ghost-proof." Sam says, "You built a panic room?" Bobby looks at Liz and Winter and says, "We all did. It's one of the things we did during the four months." Dean says, "Guys." Bobby says, "What?" Dean says, "You guys are awesome." Liz is sitting trying to find the symbol Sam drew. Dean is talking about ranting about God again. Liz says, "I found it. The symbol you saw -- the brand on the ghosts..." Dean says, "Yeah?" Liz says, "Mark of the witness." Sam says, "Witness? Witness to what?" Liz says, "The unnatural. None of them died what you'd call ordinary deaths. See, these ghosts -- they were forced to rise. They woke up in agony. They were like rabid dogs. It ain't their fault. Someone rose them... on purpose." Sam says, "Who?" Liz says, "I don't know, but whoever it was used a spell so powerful it left a mark, a brand on their souls. Whoever did this had big plans. It's called the rising of the witnesses. It figures into an ancient prophecy." Dean says, "Wait, wait. What -- what book is the prophecy from?" Liz says, "Well, the widely distributed version's just for tourists, you know. But long story short -- revelations. This is a sign, guys." Dean and Sam both say, "A sign of what?" Liz sighs and says, "The apocalypse." They have to do a spell in the library because it has a fireplace. They see Ronald and Ronald blames Liz for his death. Liz then shoots him. Liz and Winter get ready to do the spell and the guys are gonna keep guard. Liz chants the spell and Meg sticks her hand in the back of Liz and Liz grunts. Winter shouts, "Mom!" Liz drops the bowl and says, "Winter! Fireplace!" Winter catch's it and throws it into the fireplace. A bright light appears and all the ghosts disappear. Liz pants and Winter says, "Mom?" Winter helps her mom up and Liz says, "I'm okay."
