Cirrus knew he was going into self-destruct mode when he woke up one morning and saw blood all over his sheets and noticed the bandages on his wrists. His head throbbed to the beat of his own deathly drum as a volcanic eruption continued exploding in the space between his ear drums. He felt the bile rise up the back of his throat and too weak to move he rolled over to the side of the bed and threw up on the floor. When he opened his eyes he noticed his slippers were filled with the contents of his stomach and promptly vomited again.

“Hey Cirrus, are you going to be okay?” Dante asked as he squatted on the bed next to him, making sure his legs and feet were out of range should he get sick again.

Cirrus nodded; raising his painful head he wiped his mouth on the back of his hand and held out his wrists to Dante. “How? Why?”

Before Dante could reply Cirrus vomited again.

“Hey man, I think I better call an ambulance.” Dante said as he patted Cirrus gently on his back.

“Nooo. No ambulance. Just tell me what happened and why you are here and who wrapped up my wrists?”

“You called me, after you slashed your wrists. I patched you up. You begged me not to call an ambulance; in fact you used your safe word. So I did the best I could and sat in your armchair over there in the corner waiting for you to wake up.”

Cirrus glanced back at the armchair and then back at Dante. “Thanks.” He said in a whisper.

“By the way I had to force the door open so the lock is broken.”

Cirrus nodded. “Thanks for coming.”

Dante patted Cirrus on his back. “Any time. But you gotta stop beating yourself up about Melanie. There’s nothing you can do. Your life style was not for her.”

“I can’t get her out of my mind. I’ve loved her forever. How can you just expect me to turn that off?”

“Cirrus, you would do well to find yourself another Sub from the club, one who won’t mind you switching either. You need to get Melanie out of your system. Thinking about her will kill you.”

Cirrus nodded his aching head slowly. He knew Dante was right.

Dante stayed with Cirrus for two days, making sure he was okay and that he wouldn’t do anything so stupid again. They talked through the times when he first met Melanie and how he just knew she was the one for him and that he would wait forever for her and he intended to now too.

After lengthy discussions with Dante, Cirrus promised he would visit the club in the hopes of securing a new Sub or even a Switch like he was. But in his heart he knew he would only ever love one woman. He would not rest until he found her and begged her to come back. He would willingly give up his life style for her, if only she would marry him.

It was a week before Cirrus ventured back to the club and when he walked through the doors he could feel every pair of eyes on him. He ignored them and walked straight up to Dante.

Dante watched him walk across the room towards him. He held out his hand to shake Cirrus’s hand.

“If you’re not busy I need …”

“No Cirrus. I’m not going to be your Master tonight. Sheena has found you a lovely young Submissive you can train up your way.”

“Dante I really don’t want another Sub.”

At that moment Sheena walked through the door with a young blonde girl. Dante nudge him and looked towards the door. “There she is now.”

Cirrus sucked in air. She was so like Melanie it was scary.  Same build, same long blond hair and when she smiled at Cirrus she had the same colour blue eyes. In fact she even wore her hair like Melanie, long and loose falling down passed her shoulders. Cirrus was speechless and forgot completely to say hello. He just stared at her.

Sheena spoke first. “Cirrus this is Marilyn”

“A pretty name for such a pretty girl.” Dante said smiling at her.

Cirrus extended his hand to shake hers and he was stunned when she turned his hand over and pressed her lips lightly to the back of his hand. She looked up into his eyes briefly then dropped her gaze back down to the floor.

“Marilyn will be perfect for you Cirrus.”  Dante said. “She has already been schooled in her responsibilities as a sub.”

Cirrus looked at Dante, unsure of what to say next.

“Why don’t you take her over to the playroom and get to know each other.” Dante smiled.

Cirrus had never been given a Sub before and he wasn’t quite sure how to handle this situation. Sensing his hesitation, Sheena took Marilyn by the hand and walked in the direction of the play room. Looking back over her shoulder she said. “Coming Cirrus?”

Cirrus hesitated for a moment until Dante gave him a gentle push in their direction. “Go on Cirrus, give her a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.”

“But Dante, she looks so much like Melanie. I just won’t be able to act normal. I’d be thinking of Mel all the time and knowing she would not approve of any of this. It just feels wrong.”

“Cirrus you’ve got to start somewhere. You need to pull yourself out of this black hole and get on with living again.”

Cirrus knew he had to let go of the past. Deep down inside he knew Melanie wasn’t coming back and he realised it was now time to face that fact. But how could he do this so soon when his heart was still torn in two. He knew he would never open his heart to love again. Melanie was his soul mate and no one else, no matter how much they looked like her could ever take Melanie’s place in his heart.

He walked slowly into the playroom and found Marilyn already undressed and waiting for her Master’s bidding. Tonight he would be the Master and Marilyn would be his Submissive and for tonight only, he would forget and live just in the moment.

Cirrus breathed deeply as he tied the blind fold around her head and lifted the switch from its cradle.
