Sheena returned Melanie's call two days later.

"Hi Mel, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you but I haven't been too well."

"Are you going to be okay?" Melanie's voice was full of concern for her friend.

"Yes thanks. I'm going to be fine. What did you want to talk to me about?"

"I wanted to share my news with you. Not yet sure if I'm doing the right thing, but I've decided to close the door on my past with Cirrus and move on."

"Mel, only you can tell if it's right for you or not."

"I know, but I just wanted to tell you. You've been there for me through so much already and I needed to share this with you." Melanie hesitated for a moment before carrying on. "I'm going out with someone now and... well ... we are kind of living together part time, if you know what I mean."

"Umm... no I don't think I do. Has he moved in with you, or you've moved in with him and who is he?"

"It's Reece. You met him at the trial and he stays over at my place quite regularly now. I haven't actually committed to living with him permanently as yet, although he wants us to move in together now. I just needed to talk to you first."

"Melanie, you don't need my approval. If you've decided it's the right time to move on with someone new and it's what you want and you're not being pressured by Reece to do this, then you must do whatever feels right for you. No one can make that decision for you and if in a couple of months, it's not working out the way you'd hoped, you can end the relationship and tell him to go."

"I know, you're right of course. It would mean I would not be returning to England after I qualify."

"It's your life Mel, and if Australia is where you want to live now and Reece is who you want to start this new chapter of your life with, then that is what you must do. Follow your heart Melanie Mckinney, it will never steer you in the wrong direction."

"Sheena, you're such a blessing to have as a friend and I am so glad we met. I can't thank you enough for your friendship and always being my strong shoulder to lean on. From now on I hope to lean more on Reece and not on you."

"Hey girlfriend, I will always be just a phone call away. You can call me anytime, just not at 3am unless its and emergency." Sheena laughed. "We will always be friends and I'm happy for you."

"Thanks Sheena. We should connect through skype, that way we can still see each other, even though we are thousands of miles apart. It would be so much fun to catch up with each other that way."

"Great idea. I'll connect to you this evening."

"Thanks again Sheena. I feel so much better about my decision after speaking to you."

"Very welcome. We'll catch up on skype later this week. Bye for now."

"Bye and please tell Dante I said hi and thanks for everything."

When Melanie ended the call she felt as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She'd done it. Her decision was made and she was now moving on with her life. A life she was going to try and share with Reece. No! She needed to think positive. She was not going to 'try' she was going to move into this new stage of her life with Reece and make Australia her new home now.

When Reece came over that evening with Chinese takeaways she felt light hearted and excited. She couldn't help wondering if he still wanted to move in with her as she'd constantly put him off the idea, saying their relationship was perfect just the way it was.

Reece stood outside Melanie's door trying to ring the bell with his elbow as his hands were full of plastic food containers, bags of prawn crackers, which he knew were her favorites and a bunch of sweetpeas he'd bought from the flower seller around the corner from the Chinese takeaway shop. It was little things like this, that he loved buying for her as it made her face light up with a smile.
