CHAPTER 34

Crystal couldn't wait to tell Cirrus what she had found out and waved at him as soon as he walked through the coffee shop door.

"Hi Crystal. You look very happy today. What's up? Did you win the lottery?"

"Wishful thinking, but I do have good news for you."

"You found Melanie."

"Not quite."

"Well did you find her, or didn't you?"

"Hey, keep your shirt on. If you give me a chance, I'll tell you."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you."

"Dante and Sheena have gone away for a couple of weeks for a romantic break away."

Cirrus frowned. "And this is important because?"

"Cirrus, do you really think Dante would leave the club in someone else's hands for more than a weekend at most?"

"Now that you mention it. I've never know him to go away for more than an overnight stay." He sipped at his cold coffee and pushed it away. "Why would their going away have anything to do with Melanie?"

"I'm not a hundred percent sure, but it might just be that they have gone to see her in Australia."

"Australia?"

"Yes, apparently they have gone to Australia for two weeks."

"How odd." Cirrus ran his fingers through his hair. "Dante is not the sort of person who likes to travel and now he's gone all the way to Australia."

"That's exactly what I mean. Other club members have said it's very unusual for Dante to be away so long and that it must be something very important that has taken him away, and he had to take Sheena with him."

"Mhmm, you might be onto something there, especially as how Sheena and Melanie became close friends. If anyone would know where she is it would be Sheena, although she denies any knowledge of her whereabouts when I asked her." Cirrus stopped talking while the waitress set his coffee cup down in front of him. "Thanks Crystal, I appreciate you putting so much time and effort into helping me. If there is ever anything I can do to help you, please don't hesitate to ask."

"You're welcome and yes there is a small favour." She smiled. "I'd be thrilled if you could use your influence to assist me in becoming a VIP member of the club. That gold card you carry opens doors to the VIP lounge and the play room up there. I couldn't help noticing a couple of influential business men heading in that direction."

"I'd have to speak to Dante, he's the only one who can give you VIP status and a gold card. There is quite a stiff interview you would need to go through first."

"I have every confidence Dante will consider me a worthy candidate after my interview."

"I believe he will too." Cirrus grinned. Crystal was definitely a very determined woman.

"So, will you see what you can do for me?"

"Yes, I will, but not making any promises. If he says no, then I'm afraid you'll have to accept it as he never changes his mind. Well not that I know of."

"I understand. How do you plan to find out where in Australia Melanie went?"

"I was hoping I could rely on your feline intuition, to sift that detail out from Sheena somehow."

"Mhmm ..." Crystal twirled a strand of hair around her finger. "I'll give it some thought and see what I can do, but no promises."

Cirrus nodded. "Thanks Crystal, I owe you..."
