13. Game begins

Another month passed and the news that Zhan had waited for finally came.

Irene's father had died and now it was time to attend his funeral.

Zhan's was filled with excitement because everything is going to start now.

"Brother, will you come to grandfather's place for the funeral?"

"No, Zhan mom said she won't be taking us."

"But brother please let's go and beg mommy to take us."

Simon who was sitting on his study table sighed and looked at his brother who was constantly bugging him, "no Zhan I don't want to go, so I will not beg mom now go away."

"Please brother pwease."

"I said no!"

Zhan sighed this isn't good, there is no way Zhan will leave Simon alone here absolutely not

Just like in his last Simon showed Little to no interest in going, but in this life, Simon needs to come with him.

Zhan went to the kitchen and ordered the servants to give him a cup of juice, Zhan took the glass Himself and walked towards Simon's room.

"Brother, brother please drink this juice I have bought it for you pwease."

Simon sighed again and for Zhan not to annoy him he drank the juice in one go, "now go."

Zhan smiled slightly,' i am sorry for this brother but I have no other choice.'

Zhan's eyes suddenly turned red, "brother look at me."

Simon's had frozen and his body moved on his own, he wanted to say something but his mind went Blank once he saw Zhan's eyes.

He felt like he was in trance while Zhan smiled and spoke, "Brother you will come with us and beg mom to take both of us with her and you will come with us to grandfather's funeral.

Understood?"

Simon nodded, "understood."

Zhan smiled, "good now finish what you were doing."

Zhan didn't want to do this but he had no choice he will not allow his brother to be alone in this place, the same place which was hell for him. If Zhan could he would take the third prince with him too but unfortunately, he can't.

"Mother please we will come with you," Simon said as he held Irene's hand.

"Yes mom, we will come with you?" Zhan said as he grabbed another hand.

Irene who was trying to make the kids understand that it was not possible couldn't do anything.

"Mon please, please please please," the kids chanted.

In the meantime, Seth also walked into the room, "what's going on?"

"Dad please ask mom to take us with her please," Simon said, "we will be good and we won't bother her we promise."

Zhan nodded, while Irene looked at Seth helplessly who also looked back at her before nodding," you should take them with you."

"But honey..."

"Irene he was their grandfather they should get to be at his funeral."

Just like in his last life duke was the one who convinced Irene's and later on when Irene died Zhan was blamed.

He was just a seven-year-old child.

Irene agreed in the end and the packings Began, Zhan's excitement also became overwhelming.

And soon the day of departure arrived, Zhan, Simon, and Irene's stood in front of the duke.

"Take care three of you and come back soon."

"You too take care of yourself honey" the two smiled.

"Bye, bye dad." The two kids said together.

Once Zhan was seated in the carriage he gave one last glance to the Duke's mansion before smirking.

The funeral ended without any problem, Zhan also paid his respects and shed some fake tears while Simon looked like he was regretting coming here.

Of course, he would regret coming here.

But it won't last for long, soon the day to go back also arrived. The day for which Zhan has been waiting for two months.

Once they sat down in the carriage, Simon looked the most relaxed and happy that they were going back and even Zhan was happy that the moment has finally come.

"Mother please drink this juice." Zhan has a bottle to Irene with a cute face, "grandma gave it to me."

"Thanks, Zhan," Irene said and drank the juice.

Soon the weather started to change cold wind blew followed by heavy rain, the road they were on was very narrow and was beside a Cliff if Zhan remembers correctly, it going to rain heavily soon.

And yeah it happened.

Simon looked scared so Zhan held his hand, it will be over soon while Irene comforted them," it will be alright children don't worry."

Nothing will be alright for you after this point.

Zhan soon heard a loud rumbling followed by a rumble of thunder, it's going to happen soon. A little more forward and there will be a landslide.

Zhan smirked and his eyes turned red"dear mother" he called out Irene," in a few seconds you will jump down from this carriage and survive"

Zhan said and cupped his mother's face staring deep into her eyes," and you will watch your two children die, and you will go crazy after that you will Blame father for our death.

And make his life hell you will raise your hands on him and you will abuse all the servants especially the butler, you won't be calm and collected and innocent anymore.

You will be an alcoholic rude and cruelest lady who won't show any respect to those lower than you and you will also try to leave duke and make him emotionally exhausted.

You will also slowly poison him until he goes mad." Zhan smirked and kissed his mother's forehead, "now jump."

Irene stood up and opened the door which scared Simon, "mom what are you doing??? mom wait"

Simon's eyes were filled with tears as he tried to reach out to his mom but Zhan didn't let him, "sit back at your place brother."

Simon's body followed Zhan's command but he was a crying mess now.

A thought that if today Zhan and Simon jump with her and survive and go back to the mansion and start a new life, with a happy family how will life turn out then.

But Zhan shook his head and didn't think much anymore he is way too destroyed and broken to trust or forgive anyone, he came back for the sole purpose of revenge.

Irene jumped out of the carriage and once she was out Zhan grabbed Simon and just before the landslide happened he jumped out of the carriage with a terrified Simon.

He didn't waste any time and ran forward with full speed with Simon while the carriage was crushed under the landslide before rolling down the cliff.

"Mom!!!"Simon cried harder, "Zhan let's go and see mom please..."

Even though Zhan's heart broke after listening to his brother's cries he had to be tough.

Zhan ran to the deep forest path till his tiny legs gave out Simon who was terrified and shocked suddenly fainted which scared the shit out of Zhan.

"Goddess please help me, you promised you'll stay by my side."
