56. Bastina.

"Jack," Yibo called out his knight, and Jack came to him.

"Yes, your highness."

"Did you find out what I asked you?"

Jack nodded, "Your Highness, the empress and the first prince seems to be plotting something they have been quiet for some time but ever since Emperor Zion came they seem to have become more lively."

"More Lively you say?"

"Yes, your highness they seem to interact more with other nobles but they seem to be more interested in emperor Zion."

"I see. Is there anything else?"

"As of now there is nothing else I can say but once I saw the first prince carrying a book in his hand, it seemed an old book by the name of Ankh."

"Ankh?" Yibo said, "Go and see if you can find that book in the library."

Jack nodded and left while Yibo leaned back in his seat, if his hunch is correct, then the empress is planning rebellion with Zion's help.

Sumedian and Akkarian are the two largest empires on the continent, both were one at one time but after an earthquake, the land separated.

It is said that the earthquake was caused by the wrath of goddess Duat but who knows the true story, both these continents have similar beliefs and work and are equally powerful, and have been at peace all these years.

Zion is an emperor so he cannot put his people in danger or destroy thousands of years of peace.

Yibo took a paper and started to theorize.

Zion has power, wealth, and fame he wouldn't fight for these three things, the things which can benefit him are by bringing the entire Akkarina empire under his rule, this way he could own all the trade routes, mines.

But even so, from what Yibo has heard Zion is a rational person, if he helped Empress and The first prince then there must be something else he was offered but what?

"Your highness" Jack came back from the library, "Here is the book"

Yubo took the book from his hands and went through it, and soon he came across the chapter 'favored one' and once Yibo read its content his blood ran cold.

Yibo immediately stood up from his place and read the text again and again.

"The favored one can be converted into a holy object.

That line was engraved in his mind as he closed the book immediately, "JACK!"

"Yes, your highness"

"Burn this book and go and get me all the books you can find about goddess ankh and favored one and holy objects hurry!"

Jack nodded, "Yes, your Highness" and rushed outside the room while Yibo, was breathing heavily.

Was Zhan in his past life...

Yibo's face was drained of blood and he ran outside the palace he needed to see Zhan he needed answers.

Yibo was in so much hurry that he didn't see or notice anybody all he wanted to do was go and see Zhan, in his hurry Yibo bumped into someone.

Yibo stumbled backward, "Careful your highness."

Yibo looked at the other person and it was Zion, Yibo took a deep breath and calmed himself, "Your Majesty what brings you here?"

Zion smiled, "Your highness, I was just going out, but you seem to be going in the same direction."

Yibo nodded, "I see, well I was just going out for some work, but you please enjoy your walk."

Yibo was about to leave but Zion blocked his path, "Why are you in such a hurry, your highness? I am sorry for blocking your path but if it isn't too much for you then can I come with you as well?"

Yibo looked Zion in the eye and Zion just smiled innocently, Yibo is good at reading people, and Zion was already on his suspicious people list but right now he can't see anything wrong with Zion.

"Your highness?" Zion spoke again, Yibo forcefully smiled, "Your majesty, today is the first day of the festival of Bastina, hence there will be a carnival in the city if you like I can take you there."

Zion smiled, "That would be great Your highness."

Yibo smiled and wanted to leave then but before he could move or say anything Zion interrupted him again, "Your highness, would you like to play chess with me?"

Yibo paused, "But your majesty you were just going out, right?"

"Not anymore your highness, since I am already going out in the evening with you I will not go out now."

Yibo sighed although he had a smile on his face he wanted to scream so badly at this man.

After reading that book Yibo will not allow this man to be anywhere near Zhan, no way. 

"Sure, your majesty, let's go."

The evening soon came.

"Brother Simon, Brother Zhan!! let's go to the carnival" A-Xiang jumped, while A-Yuan was because of her.

Zhan smiled, "I am as ready as I'll ever be but you need to ask your brother Simon if he is willing."

Simon who was drinking his tea looked at Zhan and then at the kids who were looking at him with pleading eyes.

"Pleaseee!!" The two whined and Simon kept his newspaper down before sighing, "Fine. let's go."

"Hurray!!"

Everybody smiled before leaving the mansion, the two kids were very excited and even Zhan and Simon enjoyed it.

Although Zhan had been to the carnivals before in his last life, all the time he was alone this time he was with people he can call family.

While Simon has never been to a carnival hence it was a new experience for him.

They went to several shops and tried various snacks and even played games in which Simon and Zhan won of course and the shopkeeper would have begged them to leave the shop otherwise they would make him run out of business.

"Wohoo it's so fun." A-Xiang said and A-Yuan who was beside her smiled but stopped suddenly, "Brother Zhan, Brother Simon look it's crown Prince Yibo!"

Zhan immediately looked in the direction A-Yuan said, and he indeed saw Yibo but his face had a frown when he saw who was with Yibo.

It was none other than Zion Laurent.

Zhan clenched his fists and glared at him, what the hell was this dude's problem?

Simon who noticed Zhan's clenched fist and anger in his eyes placed a hand on his shoulder, "Let's go and talk to them."

With that Simon walked ahead followed by Zhan.

Author's note: The next chapter is going to be exciting as fuck, and yeah Jealous Zhan is cute as hell.
