51. Patience

When Adeena and her father reached him her father went to his room and didn't say much to her or her mother.

Adeena didn't think much of that and went to her room, she was happy today, and her newfound admiration towards Simon was only increasing day by day.

What a fool she was, she should have gone to Simon and instead of Sapphire, she should have been his fiance good things that she is dead.

That makes things easier for her, but the biggest obstacle she has to face is Zhan.

Adeena's face turned cold, that man has to be removed first.

And so Adeena thought about Simon and how to removed Zhan from her way before she fell asleep.

The next morning she heard a lot of commotion a maid burst into her room crying as she vigorously shook her, "MY LADY!! MY LADY WAKE UP PLEASE!!"

Adeena quickly sat up, "What's wrong? what happened?"

The maid collapsed on the ground and cried harder, "MY LADY, BARON, THE BARON HE..."

Adeena ran out of her bed towards her father's story but as soon as she reached there she screamed and collapsed on the floor.

Her father had a cut on his wrist and he was lying in the pool of his own blood while his eyes were closed and he looked peaceful.

"FATHER!!!" Adeena ran to him and shook him while crying, "FATHER!! FATHER WHAT'S WRONG FATHER WAKE-UP PLEASE FATHER!!!"

Adeena cried desperately before a maid came to her, "MY LADY THE BARONESS HAS FAINTED."

Adeena who was a mess and ran to her mother's room only to see her mother lying on the bed looking deathly pale, Adeena cried and hugged her mother, "Mother, mother please wake up..."

How did this happen? they were just fine yesterday then how?

They received help and their debts were paid and their business was going better soon then why did her father do this? what was the reason? 

The news soon spread about Baron Vespera's suicide and his funeral was held soon.

It was a dark cloudy day when the funeral was held and many nobles attended it, including Zhehan, Simon, and Zhan.

Adeena's mother who was Zhehan's aunt cried while hugging her sister, while Zhehan stood beside Adeena with a grave expression.

How can this happen his uncle Keneth was a very good guy and Zhehan had always admired him since the beginning, Keneth may not have been very powerful and influential but he was still very kind and warm-hearted.

When Zhehan's father would train him harshly or make him stand in sun for hours because of his training it was always his uncle Kenneth who would comfort him.

Baron Vespera was close to Zhehan and he admired him more than his father, and so his death was not only a shock to Adeena but to Zhehan as well.

"I am sorry for your loss Lady Adeena," Simon said with a sorry face he had admired the kind jolly man as well, he also didn't understand why did he make just a move after getting help as well.

Adeena glanced at Simon and faintly nodded, while He genuinely felt sorry for her and Zhehan, "Marquis, are you alright?"

Zhehan who was staring at his uncle's grave slowly shook his head, "He was like a father to me...and now he is gone."

Simon didn't say anything he never had a father but he does have a family so he knows how precious a family is and how painful it can be to lose it.

Simon gave a light pat on Zhehan's shoulder before looking behind him at Zhan.

Simon saw Zhan looking at the side and when Simon looked in the direction where Zhan was looking he saw Adeena's mother Riva.

Why was he looking at her?

Before Simon could call out to Zhan he saw Zhan clenching his fist and his eyes slightly redded before a loud scream was heard.

Simon immediately looked in the other direction to see Riva clutching her chest and falling on the floor, "MOTHER!!" Adeena ran towards her and sat beside her but Zhan kept on staring at her.

"Aunt!" Zhehan also ran to her while Simon who was confused went to Zhan and make him  face him, "What are you doing?"

"I am doing nothing brother, I am just standing here quietly."

"Before Simon could say anything else, Adeena's painful scream was heard, "MOTHER!!!"

The rain started to pour down heavily while Simon saw Adeena hugging her mother's corpse and crying painfully.

Her mother Riva Vespera was dead.

Even Zhehan was shocked and couldn't say anything.

Simon was watching everything ahs cold rain touched his body before looking at Zhan who was actually looked satisfied.

There was no sadness, no shock nothing.

"Zhan..." Simon spoke slowly, "Did you do it?"

Zhan looked at his brother for a while with mysterious eyes, "Do what brother? I am standing here since the beginning."

Simon grabbed his forearm, "Answer me honestly that day when Baron came to visit me why did you stop me?"

"Because I didn't want you to help someone like him."

"What do you mean someone like him? He was a good man."

"But his children are vicious."

"Only his son Kyle, and not Adeena."

Zhan smiled, "you don't understand anything!"

"SHUT UP! Don't give me that bullshit." Simon who lost his cool suddenly yelled and that grabbed everyone's attention, even Zhan was shocked why was his brother yelling at him for that vicious lady.

While Simon realized his mistake and glared at Zhan, "Come home with me right now."

Once Zhan and Simon reached home, he didn't say anything to Zhan and didn't even bother to look at him.

Even when Zhan tried to ask him what was wrong Simon didn't respond, he just glared at Zhan, "Are you going to tell me or not?"

Zhan still played innocent, "Tell you what?"

Simon who was losing his patience yelled, "WHAT WAS THAT BACK THERE? WHY WERE YOU LOOKING AT HER MOTHER AND WHY DID SHE DIE THERE?"

A-Xiang and A-Yuan who were there were shocked as well.

"How come I know that? I was just looking at her because I felt sorry for her."

"Sorry? you felt sorry for her?" Simon sighed and slapped his forehead, "You are still gonna play innocent huh? you are still not gonna say anything huh?"

Zhan only looked at him and the little siblings also felt the tension. 

"Fine, fine don't say anything, don't  tell me anything" Simon smiled, "I am the fool here, why do I even try to talk to you? I am the fool here" Simon said dejectedly and went to his room.

That day he didn't eat anything and neither come out of his room.
