29. Fight

In a few days, Emerald became a fierce competition for Adeena.

and the rumors about the two spread quickly and the side was formed as well, come supported Emeral while some Adeena.

And while the two passed the test with flying colors which made the competition even more fierce both sides left no leaf unturned to make their candidate win.

But in the ned it all came to a draw, Adeena was a very smart lady and surprisingly Emearl was a hidden gem, she was genius all she needed was a mentor.

In the duke's mansion Zhan's days became more and more pleasant because the head butler's health was declining, very rapidly and that was amazing.

And today while having breakfast the duke also coughed blood which startled the servants," MY LORD!!"

The servants tan towards him and even Zhan but Irene watched him without any concerns and that was made Duke hurt a lot.

Irene's cold gaze her coldness and her ignorance, Seth never knew that Irene would hate him so much that she wouldn't even bling when he collapsed on the floor.

And that feeling was really painful, and today he finally realized that his loving caring, and innocent was already dead a long time ago.

Zhan held the duke's forearm and helped him stand up, while Simon didn't understand what to do, at first but in the end, he also helped the duke to stand up.

While Elijah Irene's knight watched helplessly. Once Zhan and Simon placed the duke in his room they walked out, Zhan felt really happy it seemed like the poison was slowly taking effect.

Seeing that the high and mighty duke who had killed so many people and fought in extremes conditions and had always returned victoriously had finally collapsed it proved that the poison was slowly killing him and the duke's dead was close so was the butlers.

Soon the duke's entire power will land in his hand.

Once Zhan and Simin came out of Duke's room they were met with Elijah, "How is duke's young masters."

"Oh he is fine for now," Zhan said, "Are you okay though Mr. Elijah?"

"I am completely okay, Young master Zhan." 

Oh, that was a very bad thing, this man is next on Zhan's hate list, soon they heard a loud commotion and ran towards the dining room where the duchess was holding the butler's hairs and mercilessly slapping him.

"YOU BASTARD WHY ARE YOU SO LATER TO CLEAN THIS PLACE HUH!!!!" Irene slapped and slapped and slapped the butlers till he was all bruised.

The servants and the knight all felt really horribly after watching the fifty-something years old man being beaten so mercilessly.

Then Irene let pg of the butler and picked a bowl full of hot foo and smashed it on the butler's head.

the maids covered the face and cried after seeing the pitiful face of the butler while Elijah couldn't take it anymore.

Zhan didn't laugh this time he just watched with a hard face, he didn't feel delighted, and neither he felt sad for the butler he just watched at the butler was being punished for his past life sins.

And this was his life all these years, much more brutal than  Zhan's, and the butler Dylan only begged for death after living in this hell how.

But the duchess was really mad today, "WHY HAVEN'T YOU CLEANED THAT BASTARD'S BLOOD YOU ABOMINATION."

"I AM SORRY DUCHESS, PLEASE I AM SORRY PLEASE HAVE MERCY." the butler cured badly.

Irene yelled and picked another bowl and was about to smash it on the weeping and begging butler's face.

"ENOUGH!!!" The loud and clear voice thundered in the room, everyone froze and flinched, the duchess also froze and looked at the source of the voice it was Simon.

Zhan also stared at his brother but he found his brother fuming with anger, he was shivering and breathing heavily because of anger, "HAVE YOU GONE MAD! WOMAN?"

He said and stopped Irene before moving forward and taking the bowl out of her hand "for such a small mistake you are beating him so mercilessly?"

Irenes' eyes soften, "Son why are you defending a pest like him, he is a mere replaceable servant if he dies we can have another one and pest like these needs to know their place,

And I understand after living in the outside world with mere filthy commoners you must not understand this but don't worry your mother will help you to understand." 

She raised her hand to caress Simin's cheeks but he slapped her hand away and said, "A filthy woman like you can't be my mother."

Silence filled the room and Irene's eyes went emotionless and she stared at Simion, "I gave birth to you and named you and raised you, and have waited for you for so many years and yet you dared today that you are not my son, you ungrateful child."

She said and was about to slap Simon but Zhan grabbed her hand and looked at her with anger, "You are not allowed to touch him."

Irene looked with anger at the two, "ELIJAH!!!"

"Yes my lord."

"TAKE THESE TWO LCOK THEM IN THEIR ROOM THEY WILL NOT SOME OUT UNTIL THE PARTY" Irene's; said and Elijah moved forwards towards them.

"Sir Elijah, you are really going to listen to her? even if she is wrong?" Simon asked, "We are your master here."

But Elijah spoke next, "The only person I ever consider my master is Miss Irene and I am not obliged to follow anyone's orders other than her."

Zhan sighed, this was very similar to something Elijah had said in his past life, Elijah then grabbed Zhan's hand bringing him out of his thoughts, and was about to drag him but before he could ever move Simon grabbed his hand and twisted it to the point that it broke before throwing him to the ground and crushing his face with his feet.

"A bastard like you dared to touch my brother? huh? I was nice to you all these days and this is how you treat me and my brother? if you are not obliged to follow anyone's orders and have the right to do anything wrong in the name of your loyalty then I also have the right to stop a dinner like you"

And so with that Simon broke both of Elijah's arms, "I HATE THIS HOUSEHOLD and everyone here, i will not be a part of such a filthy disgusting family."

Irene was shocked and so was everyone, even Zhan was shocked at this, no, no, no, no, no he can't let Simon out of his sight absolutely not especially after the empress and the first prince know about his existence.

"Bother," Zhan said and wanted to grab his hand but Simon only glared at him. 

"ENOUGH I WON'T LISTEN TO YOU AS WELL, TODAY AND YES YOU ARE COMING WITH ME OTHERWISE I WILL DRAG YOU OUT OF HERE, BUT I WILL NOT A LOWE YOU TO STAY HERE ANYMORE."

Simon then grabbed Zhan's hand and proceed to walk out of the duke's mansion but Irene ordered, "GO AND SUMMON ALL THE GUARDS NAD STOP THESE TWO."

Zhan's heartbeat quickened no, no,no everything is going out of hand if the guards cam Simon's anger will be uncontrollable and he will kill all of them.

He has to do something but what? just what? suddenly an idea popped in his head for a split second his eyes flashed red before he coughed.

And that made Simion stop and even Irenes ran towards her son, "Zhan!!"

Simons' eyes widened as well because Zhan coughed blood and he was falling towards that ground but thankfully Simon grabbed his before he could fall.

"Brother please stay," Zhan said before pretending to faint and the entire duke mansion went into Chaos
