35. Sapphire's treatment

"Sir Simon I am so glad that you have accepted the marriage proposal," Sapphire said as she sat in the carriage with Simon who smiled and held her hand which made her blush.

"How can I reject a beautiful girl like you Sapphire I am sorry for my rude behaviors earlier."

"No, no Sir Simon your anger is also very charming I fell for you at the first sight and have dreamed to have you as my husband."

Simion smiled but internally he was gagging.

"Sir Simon you are such a brave, handsome man I can't believe that I will have you as my husband"

Simon smiled, "You are a very pretty lady as well Lady Sapphire. My mother will be the happiest to meet you"

Sapphire smiled she was told that she needed to get on the duchess's good side and then her path will be smooth and once they reached the duke's mansion she saw Irene at the entrance, she was a very beautiful lady.

Irene had a smile on her face as she looked at Sapphire and Simon and Zhan behind them.

When Sapphire stood in front of Irene she lifted her dress slightly and bowed, "Good evening Duchess."

Irene smiled, "Look at me, dear."

Sapphire smiled a the kind gesture looks like it won't be tough to win her over but as soon as she looked at Irene her face flew to the side as she was tightly slapped by the duchess.

"Pest." Irene said and slapped her again, "Someone as lowly as you dare to dream to become a part of my house huh?"

Irene then grabbed Sapphire's hair and dragged her into the house leaving Zhan and Simon behind smiling.

She there Sapphire on the floor and said, "This is your place in this house and in this world, you are not worthy of even raisin your head in front of me the sooner you realize the better" Irene then kicked Sapphire who screamed and after she was done she poured water over Sapphire and walked to her room.

"Disgusting pest."

Sapphire who couldn't understand what was going on was shocked, her hair was messed her face was a mess and the servants looked at her with pity but the butler looked relaxed because it seemed that the duchess will not bother him anymore.

"Oh, Sapphire" Simon ran to her and sat in front of her, "Are you okay I am sorry but my mother is a little aggressive but don't worry if you behave well she will accept you."

Sapphire slowly nodded and with Simon's help got up and the maids showed her to the room where she would be staying.

Once she was out of sight Simon and Zhan smiled, "Welcome to hell lady."

The next day Sapphire woke up with something cold being poured over her, she sat up and yelled, "who the hell"

But before she could complete she got another salp ion her face," Get up pest,"

It was the duchess Sapphire who got up and greeted her while Irene made a disgusted face and walked out at the dinner table Sapphire presenter her gracefully and took her seat beside Simon.

"Good morning Sir Simon."

"Good morning Lady Sapphire'

"Good morning Duchess"

"Shut up, keep your disgusting voice to yourself, and don't let me hear it again" Zhan smiled and continued to eat his food while Sapphire clenched her fist and wanted to cry.

"Where is the duke?" Sapphire asked and Irene glared at her again.

"Why you wish you seduce my husband after going for my son huh?" 

"No...no duchess you are..."

Irene couldn't even complete her sentence when Irene threw water at her, "Shut up"

Sapphire was angry now she was the most beautiful lady among nobles and everyone respected her desired her and respected her she will not be treated like this how dare a lowly woman with no background like Irene to look down at her.

"That's enough duchess how can you..."Sapphire couldn't complete her sentence when Irene grabbed her hair and banged her head against that table, twice before slapping her and throwing her down doesn't the floor.

"How dare you open that filthy mouth in front of me?!!...butler go and bring my whip."

Butler nodded and brought Iren's whip and Irene mercilessly whipped Sapphire while no one helped her.

In the end, Irene made a mess out of Sapphire.

Zhan watched with pleasure just like in his last life this woman had humiliated him Zhan was going to make her life hell ad well.

She could have survived if she wasn't so damn stubborn but now her days will only be of hell.

And so Sapphire's days of misery a flower-like woman like her was treated like dirt.

Constant beatings and degradation were what had become of her life, but she was really stubborn after a month of torture she didn't give up.

She still remained in the mansion where the duchess continued to torment her to the point where Sapphire would flinch from even the slightest movement.

Today Zhan had gone to the temple to meet Silas, he helped Silas to clean the place and then offer her prayer to the goddess.

"How have you been Silas"

"I have been well Zhan"

"Why the prince isn't here yet?"

Silas's smile dimmed, "The prince is fighting grief and it won't be easy to come out of it once you have fallen in despair but my disciple is very strong, he can overcome it"

Zhan nodded slightly, "I'll leave now Silas see you later."But instead of going back to his house Zan went to the imperial palace and requested to meet the third prince.

The third prince took some time but soon came out to meet him.

"Greetings Your highness"

"Hello Sean, what brings you here Sean?" Yibo asked.

"I just wanted to meet you, Your highness I don't think I need a reason for it"

"Yibo nodded he was quiet than usual and didn't smile anymore he didn't talk much anymore as well looks like Nancy's death had affected him more than anyone could imagine.

"Would you like to come with me, your highness?"

"Come where?"

"Just go for a walk? Please" Zhan asked sincerely and Yibo sighed before nodding

Zhan smiled and held Yibo's hand, "Great let's go then"
